Remove This Ugly Druid Chicken Form

Druids don’t need to be a big fat chicken to cast spells + we want to see how our character looks.

There’s a glyph for that.

I dont particularly like being blue and see-through either, though, but such is the life of a druid that doesnt heal.

blasphemy. they created a glyph for fools such as yourself.

Animal forms are one of the best features of druids, boomchicken included. As noted glyph of stars exists, and if you want a class without forms, play a class without forms. Those other classes could use some players anyway, with druid being the single most popular class.

Yeah, no. A very large part of being a Druid is the forms (and why I hate that Tree form is just a CD now), and Boomchickens are particularly great. There’s a glyph if you really want to avoid the class fantasy for some reason.

While I dont think removing boomkin form is the way, and the glyph is the start of options, allowing people to choose to just play Balance without altering their form, and staying caster should be there.

And its always impressive when people ask for optional choices, there are always people to rally and get upset and say things like the above. Options are optional. And for most customizable or appearance related features, I am of the opinion that the more the better.

GOOD DAY SIR!!

Then play a class/spec that allows that.

I disagree, I like the Lazer chicken. I love Zandalari’s even more.

Well I mean, it’s just rather arbitrary. Why does moonkin get to ditch its animal form but not bear, cat, or travel? What makes moonkin so special?

If you want alternate appearances for forms or even a way for gear to show on those forms, I could get behind that. In fact boomy is in dire need of that. Outright disabling forms, a core piece of class kit, is a bit weird though… like if prot warriors stopped using shields or if paladins could ditch their chargers for magic carpets.

Why? The fantasy of the class is using forms to enhance their abilities, and Boomkins are no different. The glyph already is the compromise. You get your humanoid silhouette, but still look altered to reflect that something is enhancing the user. You shouldn’t be able to totally opt out of the fantasy. It’s like asking that Death Knights get a glyph option to make all their abilities look Holy. It’s against the point of the class.

They should really have some glyphs for Boomkin forms. Arrakoa or something would be a cool alternative

They could give us a better glyph though. Glowy star child is nice, but I just want to see my elf.

I actually prefer the boomkin form. It’s cute AF.

I wish we could have like a silver or gold hue like Tyrande did in the End Time dungeon.

The owl kin form is ugly.

Give us a light silver or gold majestic hue. Barely see through?

The glyph is pretty obnoxious too though.
With that said - if you don’t want to shapeshift you probably shouldn’t play a Druid.

To go along with this, I’m still very angry that proper tree form was taken away from Resto Druids and I haven’t gotten over it. Druids conceptually are awesome for the forms, that’s what makes the class. I would be upset if Balance went the way of Resto.

I do wish for other form options, though. I like the animations of the Zandalari Boomkin form, as an example.

Tree form definitely should make a comeback.

There needs to be a better glyph for that.

Shadow priests suffer the same problem.
