Remove the RBG bracket

It’s too niche, controlled by cliques and abused by win traders and queue dodgers.

Just make it so regular BGs have mmr, leavers lose mmr and get replaced, leave the bgs the way they are, and allow groups of 10 and 15 players to queue together for the corresponding maps that allow 15 or 10 players by having the group lead be able to veto maps so they can garner an advantage based on the composition they’re running.

And make these bgs count towards the weekly vault options.

There’s no need to seperate the BG playerbase into two brackets. Classic bgs had people of all shapes and sizes, they and current bgs are funner than RBGs, because of the gearing and voice communication requirements.

There’s no point in having a large sum of the playerbase not able to participate in bgs that they want to do, being forced into doing 2s and solo shuffle just so they can feel comfortable in a regular bg.

This would bring up the quality of BGs in general and it would allow people who want to do bgs and gain player power that currently can’t, because of the very steep gearing requirements for the current RBG system.

Hopefully they do something, maybe not this, but something.

Honestly, i’m not totally against this… my concern would be for the random people going into bgs for fun and just getting non stop steamrolled. It might take the casual element out of a casual game mode.

What are these hardcore gear reqs you speak of anyway? Must have 400 pvp ilvl? The only barrier to entry for RBGs seems to be class/spec uniformity and listing off your resume of past experiences, which is annoying and absurdist gatekeeping.

random players would have lower mmr and they’d be matched with players that also had low mmr… teams that would be steam rolling would have high mmr and they’d just face each other. A random player already gets steam rolled and graveyard camped in the current random bg system, by 5 man teams in full gear.

The player that gets steamrolled can just leave and do something more productive at no tangible detriment to the team, because someone that can turn the tide of battle or someone that just needs the honor from a loss (which is me sometimes) would join, stay and defend or fight.

Leavers in RBGs DON’t get replaced and it’s REALLY demoralizing to the team. I’d love for them to get replaced in some way at least, and that’s why the random bg system is the most successful pvp archetype in the game.

Random BGs are a complete success and they should be built upon and not detracted from with the current Rated BG system.

Streamers would be able to queue for 15 man games and they could bring in 5 more viewers instead of the 10. Plus, deepwind gorge is more stressful on the players, because it was designed as a 15 man map so it just stresses out 10 mans for no reason.

And let streamers make full groups for epic bgs so more people can play with their favorite streamer while participating in advanced strategies.

It only takes 11,000 honor to get a full 411 set of PVP gear. You can also get 2 craftable 424 pieces. It’s pretty easy to get all of this in a week.

Trust me. I’ve seen steep gearing requirements. This is a cakewalk by comparison.

This whole thread is just laughably wrong.

Sounds to me like you’re just getting bad groups. I’ve found that joining a PVP guild or community really helps, especially ones that take RBGs seriously.

always some person in the forums that say things that don’t make sense, he wants to ruin the random battle ground format. You have the option to go do rated bgs if you want leave random bgs out of it. The he tries to bring up premades stomping random bgs, which is a simple fix allow random bgs to have real solo que option were you only que into other solo que players.

But blizzard would never due that since the majority of bg players are doing it solo it would hurt que times for premade groups and people who wanna do bgs with friends. This is why almost no gaming companies have a real solo que system for their games. What you end up is 85 percent of the player base who only do solo que would be happy but the other 15 percent would get sweaty games of premade vs premade and have much longer que times.

LOL. No.

This is just as silly as those who think BGs shouldn’t have any groups at all.

You forgot the drake breaker pieces, they’re asking for 3-4 set of those, and conquest weapons along with other conquest pieces.

whos they?

this is something of an issue under the guise of “playing with muh friends for fun” which isnt the real case at all is it

LOL. Those are even easier to get. Go out into the world on War Mode. Loot a chest. Boom. 200 Bloody Tokens. You can now buy a piece of Drakebreaker gear. Rinse and repeat until you have 3-4.

I can’t help it if my friends want to have some chill fun and we happen to be good at PVP.

press x to doubt

the absolute worst people to queue with

Actually it often is.

Of all the PvP modes in WoW, RBGs are the one I forget even exists… I never, ever do RBGs.

The few times I have participated I laughed wicked hard listening to the Dude shot calling… Fella was so serious about it you would have thought we were running a legit military OP… I just can’t take a game so serious that I’m in danger of popping an artery… Not gonna happen.

RBGs clearly get played, I just never hear about them… Seems maybe they could use a means of greater access for the wider player base.

Rated battlegrounds are basically a place for the insane, lol.

I love the assumptions these people make. The vast majority of my honor levels have come from solo or duo queueing. Yes, it sucks to be matched up against five man preforms with two healers when alone or with one other person.

But, I also realize that this game’s pvp is team based pvp and that people are not always going to want to play rated BGs which are a PITA to coordinate and not exactly something you would want to do when you want to relax and have some fun.

Because of DF’s gearing system some friends have returned and sometimes we queue as 3+ (gasp). But during SL after they all left it was me mostly solo queueing and sometimes duo queuing. I see both sides of the fences.

Honestly, I’d like to see them move away from ten man rated BGs and move to a 6v6 group vs. group format (easier to form and keep running than ten) and also a solo queue 6v6 format. GW2 has had a group and solo rated ladder forever for what they call structured pvp (rated BGs, basically).
