Remove the monthly tendies cap

So with the tendies cap, i feel as though i get the goodie for the month and then I’m not motivated to finish out the log.

There’s no achievement or anything for completion of the log that month, and it isn’t so much about the mogs / items but more so the log itself. The mogs etc would be nice, but it is missing the “carrot on a stick” so to speak.

What do you all think?

Double the cap at the least. Still keep the reward at the same amount, but after that, you can still earn 1000 more to buy shinies with.

people will still complain about not being able to buy every thing
while the idea is good still a lose lose

Only problem I see is if that happens tendies will go in shop as stand alone items instead as part of bundles

I’m just waiting for the part where someone tells you "blizzard is looking out for the players and that the cap is there so that players don’t spam it and burn themselves out. " Classic.

Agree. If I’m willing to grind out all the activities in the monthly log, I should be able to earn more tender in-game…you know, reward players for investing more time playing your game. Otherwise why bother tracking activities after someone’s filled it out for the month?

It was their full intention to create a system to drive people to the cash shop. They knew very well that people would have liked for the developers to create a way for someone to collect all of them items in any given month. People like to complete lists. The next step step was to make it where people would have to limit their choices. Also add in the fact that items leave the list at the end of the month creates that fear that they wouldn’t be able to collect all of the items. The last step is to put a way for people to collect more tenders and add them into the cash shop to drive sales. Hence why people are calling it predatory.

You’re not supposed to finish the log. You are supposed to pick and chose the activities from it that you enjoy most.

They’re also re-releasing items from previous months though. This is taking away my fear of missing out;
I was kind of bummed I never had enough tendies to get that treasure chest back then. But now to see it back again, I get to have it after all.

I think you’re missing the entire purpose of the trading post.

Creating that incomplete, unsatisfied feeling you have is the entire point the system.

The carrot is then dangled in the cash shop.

blizzard is looking out for the players and that the cap is there so that players don’t spam it and burn themselves out.

Yes please, let me earn even an additional 500-1000 tenders beyond the first 1k for the end reward. Still wouldn’t be able to buy everything like Blizz wants, but would allow players more freedom in what they buy.

Most people do that, including you because…

No, the point is to have a system in place in which you are rewarded for staying subscribed each month to build up your trader’s tenders whilst also getting a reward for completing the log each month

The system is built for long-term profitability of folks staying subscribed, and that’s literally it

The system was built for long term profitability, yes. But given the price increase on transmog sets to fit in tenders into the bundle, they’re clearly also trying to exploit it fir short term profitability, too.

So far I’m really enjoying the replies (even if some of them I don’t agree with but it’s nice to see other perspectives etc).

The main reason I posted this too was even in Animal Crossing there’s ways to earn Nook miles that are past the achievements etc for the game. It’s Nook miles + which gives small tasks to fill out.

I just… idk sure I could buy the mog with the tendies but then I’m still in the same spot. Sure I could complete the log but… I don’t feel rewarded for doing so and it feels like a waste of time.

The problem with that is that… this is largely irrelevant

Yes it is making use of the Trader to sell the bundle but its the same thing as any other bundles when they are released
Can’t really argue that this is for short term gain but… no one is arguing it isn’t
Folks are just extrapolating “the existance of bundles” with the slippery slope fallacy and in specific the guy I responded to is doing that

Nothing about this bundle has any realistic or meaningful impact on the game or the system because of how its built at its core

You’re not supposed to complete the entire log. It’s not there to be completionist. It’s there to give a variety for all levels and gameplay types.

My thoughts…

If it were possible to just grind out more tendies, I’d do it. I say this as someone who always keep at least 1k extra to roll over just incase there is a must-have in that month’s selection.

Yah’, I can see that - but by and large the thing is designed so folks do it over time and just by playing the game

Ain’t no reason to stress about it regardless of us as players typically doing so
And if one doesn’t care about the specific “reasons” (currency + crab) to do so, if one doesn’t want to do it then one doesn’t have to do it

At the end of the day if one could get more currency from the in-game activities, that would just mean that the store would get more expensive since at that point everyone has more trader’s tenders to spnd whilst by and large ignoring the long-term aspects of it

I say just do what you wanna do and if its worth filling it out, then do it
Or maybe I’m misunderstanding what it is you are actually saying here since you are mentioning getting the mog for filling out the log, which I assume refers to the monthly trader-log thingy

Wait… is this what you meant? Because if so, eh… Sendryn’s right and listen to 'em
