Remove the mandatory leveling campaign

Can’t access 11.2 without doing the leveling campaign. Last season of the xpac. I only pvp / dungeon.

Mandatory 8 hour (solo content) quest chains to get BIS is not in the spirit of world of warcraft. By far the worst part of the last 2 xpacs were the mandatory leveling campaigns.

Grinds are fine. 8 hours of forced solo content + another 3 hours of the new 11.2 quest line to get bis is not cool. Let me kill monsters with other players if you want me to farm something, it’s an mmo.

Can you not just talk to Brann and skip the quest?

Nope. Only if you completed the leveling campaign on your main.

The spirit of an MMORPG isn’t in following the story to get stronger? Strange.

I am a little shocked that you made it to 80 without doing the core campaign.

Vanilla and tbc didn’t require 10 hours of solo content just to access end game.

I finished top 40 for my spec in solo shuffle on the account that I never did the leveling campaign. And now it’s bricked this season.

They both had stupidly long attunement quests

Oh, sorry the game isn’t the exact same now as it was 20 years ago. I’m sure you have thousands of hours in this game. Whining over “10” of them (it’s way less than 10 hours for this patch) is such cute WoW community behavior.

That was still group content.

Ok you wanna pvp for 10 hours before you can access LFR raids, M0, or delves?

Okay play through the story with your friends

Sure. I like PvP.

That’s a loud assumption about the OP there lol.

Doing dungeons for attunement is not the same as having someone on /follow and skipping through countless quest dialogs.

And do other pve players feel the same? Obviously not. There’s outrage any time they have to pvp for even 30 minutes.

Nah. They made it really simple. If you do the story quests on one character, you can skip them on the whole warband. It really doesn’t take too long to complete the level-up campaign.

8 hours for the campaign + 3 hours for the new 11.2 quest line isn’t that long?

Can you do something that is irrelevant, has no reward, and is not the content you enjoy before you can access the base game for 11 hours just to play 1 season? Or would you unsub?

And how exactly does doing solo shuffle magically preclude you from doing the campaign? I mean that is a pretty big reach there and a nice humble brag

I don’t know if anybody mentioned this or not but it turns out World of Warcraft is an RPG. That means role-playing game. That means you participate in a story and progress to a higher level each time. So anyone who thinks this game is not centered around the open world content, and the campaigns that come with every expansion has been playing the game wrong for a really long time. Dungeons and raids are cute, but they are not the only aspect of this game. Yeah, I said it.

It’s not 8 hours, not even remotely. Also not solo content.

Do the campaign if you want to have open up the endgame content.

If OP is only PvPing, is it necessary? I’m pretty sure there are PvP capes?

The majority of world of warcrafts existance did not include 10 hours of mandatory questing to access the base game.

Most people prefer dungeons, or even just grinding without ping ponging back and forth for quests.

The 11.2 cape is BIS in pvp.

You got a great point. Can’t they just mail you BIS once you buy the game and pay the sub? I mean, what’s the point in playing the game really? We all get BIS for minimal effort, so why even have that?
