Remove the cooldown on crusader strike

We want the cooldown removed on crusader strike. We won’t always have the haste needed to smooth out our rotation and haste should not be required to make the spec feel good. In fact, removing the CD will make haste feel better because it will be noticable that we’re using less crusader strike. Yes this would be a damage buff but ret isn’t breaking the damage meter right now anyways.

Removing the CD on hammer of rightousness for prot and crusader strike for holy would make generating holy power much more reliable too.

This is literally all we need to smooth out the rotation perfectly. The only thing I see people complain about (rotationally) is the downtime/HP generation. This also wouldn’t be any kind of buff that rockets us to the top of the charts, either. It would be a slight buff (based on the downtime I experience, coupled with just slightly more TVs/DSs, and the extra less-than-auto-attack damage tossed in) to DPS, while being a huge buff to the roation.

Going back to the former 4.5s recharge would already go a long way.

Another way to make the rotation way smoother would be to add an effect to crusader strike, reducing the cooldown of Judgement by 2-3seconds when used.

It means you’d have to hold on to crusader strike if there was less time on jugdment’s CD than ‘time dedication + 1gcd’ which would be deadtime up to 4.5 seconds if we had the 3 second time reduction like you suggest. And deadtime is something players want gone.

Im sure you would just judge anyway to reduce the downtime. Crusader Strike hits for nothing anyway.

Huh?

From what I understood of your post you want crusader strike to reduce the CD on judgement to be reduced by 3 seconds.

So if judgement has 10 of CD and you hit crusader strike judgement has 7 second left on its cooldown but you still need to wait 1.5 seconds (gcd which can be reduced by to be simple we will ignore haste) so by the time you can cast your next spell there is 5.5 seconds left on judgement.

But if you has less than 4.5 seconds to go on your judgement and no other buttons except crusader strike you would wait that 4.5 seconds use judgement and than take full advantage of crusaders strike CD reduction of judgement after putting it on CD. This is huge deadtime which is the opposite of what we are trying to do. Because in order to maximize the number of judgements you get in a fight you wouldn’t want to clip your crusader strike CD reduction of judgement ever because crusader strike hits so weakly.

Doubt you would gimp yourself from judgement cd and holy power generation just because of that.

It wouldn’t be optimal. And it is against our design goal here.

CS is getting a mana cost in SL. I’d say that’d be a fair trade off if it had no or very low cooldown.
If i want to OOM myself to do damage in a situation where I’m confident in my healer, that should be allowed.

I can currently OOM myself in a situation where the healer needs help, so this would go a good ways to give Ret another skill based gameplay option.

Even as ret? I would want to run into more deadtime because we go oom.

That is no longer the case as of today’s patch, Ret and Prot’s CS no longer have a mana cost… Basically the only bit of feedback they actually acted on from the entire feedback thread over the course of the entire beta…

I agree. Remove the CD and give it a mana cost.

It doesn’t need a mana cost, it hits for less than an auto attack and we’d still only use it when everything else is on cooldown… It would be far from overpowered if they did nothing but remove the cooldown.

I wouldn’t suggest a mana cost but I am 100% for no CD.

Make the “Fires of Justice” talent baseline, add it to the leveling path for new players, and replace that talent with something more unique considering what will be in the same row.

The level 25 row currently has the following:
“Fires of Justice” - Reduces the cooldown of Crusader Strike by 15% and grants it a 15% chance to make your next ability consume 1 less Holy Power. (Should be made baseline even for Holy)

“Blade of Wrath” - Art of War resets the cooldown of Blade of Justice 100% more often and increases its damage by 25%. (Add: increases it’s damage by 25% in holy damage - this will help it compete with Empyrean Power better since it can scale with Mastery)

“Empyrean Power” - Crusader strike has a 15% chance to make your next Divine Storm free and deal 25% additional damage. (Perfectly fine as is)

Potential replacement for ‘Fires of Justice’ if it can be made baseline:
“Light of Justice” - replaces ‘Blade of Justice’ - 20 yd range / 15 sec cooldown - Blasts the target with light fueled by justice, dealing (125% of Attack power) as Holy damage.

I always hate the idea of paladin looks like a rogue that shiny… so dump waiting sometimes 3 sec to some skills get out CD

And i will sad it again, talent for me should be passive habilities that improve some baseline skills or implement aditional effects to it

Removing baseline habilities to put in talents is so lol

I would agree with this. Only give Paladin’s 1 bubble, and remove CD on Crusader Strike

Go away, rogue, go to your own class forums if you have grievances, leave us to ours. Our defensives are trash enough without your trash suggestions, the only reason we should lose one of our bubbles is to get another more reliable defensive in it’s place.

If you’re here to whine about us being OP against other melee in a 1v1 (which you likely are), I’ll remind you that the game isn’t balanced around 1v1.

Imagine being a rogue complaining about Ret paladins.
