Remove Tagging

So I leveled a littile bit in the WOWF,
the most failed feature of this version is mob tagging,
I categorically do not understand what specific purpose does it serve in the game.

Skill issue and/or social issue.

retailers lost this debate months ago sweetie :expressionless_face: mob tagging is here to stay

It’s an incentive for players to group up, and it really works. Also, it’s only an issue in the early levels during the launch - it’ll smooth out over time.

Though, some quests like the one for the collars dropped by Thrashers in Redridge are an issue - rarest mob, and not guaranteed.

it decides who will get loot and exp from the mob if it is killed

Mob tagging allocates who gets the loot. Without tagging you have a situation where huge groups could wipe out everything and everyone gets a share of the loot even though there was zero danger, zero actual gameplay, zero effort, etc.. It would kind of suck … like Retail WoW does.

You don’t get to flick your wand at a quest mob once and get credit for killing it, sorry.

You dont want to help someone if you are not forced to group?

I help people all the time that I’m not grouped with. The point I’m making is that with shared tagging, you’d see fewer people grouping to get a quest done.

It’s simple. Be as toxic as possible. They want it in? well you reap what you sow. Enjoy

ok, but what I see is, that group is immediately disabanded, 0.1 seconds after the quest is done, nobody even says anything
I dont know why this kind of grouping is required

I was invited and particiapted in dozens of groups now, every single one of them disbands or someone leaves as they please

Well, it’s also to curb behaviour/punish like this.

You don’t have to stay grouped for more than 5-10 minutes for it to be a social experience. Were they to have shared tags, you simply wouldn’t have grouped at all.

It’s also not required. Just makes it easier.

It would make it even much easier not to force tagging at all.
to me it seems that for whoever does not want to socialize, since does not say a single word, just silently groups, quests, leaves.

so whatever purpose it serves aside gatekeeping, socialization aint one of them for sure

The only people mob tagging punishes are those simply trying to do their own thing.

Sure, but easy isn’t the point of Forever, and not just the community as a whole but Blizzard themselves have explicitly stated that shared mob tagging goes against what Forever, and Classic, is entirely trying to do.

Maybe try and socialize with people you group with for a short time to share tags. I’ve added people to my friends list this way already, and also joined a new guild this way too.

If you refuse to group with anyone or interact with them in any way, sure. But a quick invite (or request to invite) to share tags makes the experience better for everyone. You can toss each other quick buffs, kill faster, share tags as a group, and even meet new people that way.

So weird cause I toss people buffs without saying a word and have no problem. Put down a camp ground and others come and put down stuff without saying a word and we just sit. There’s no reason to have mob tagging except for those who think they can bring back the original experience. It’s not coming back. Wake up

Socializing is more than just talking. Working on a shared task together is socializing.

I would too, but I can’t, since I’m a Warrior. But smacking a mob they’re fighting is about the best I can provide.

True, outside of the beta I haven’t had a conversation yet at a campfire (though honestly, I rarely stop for one). That is a missed opportunity.

Well, shared mob tagging isn’t coming either, so… wake up I guess?

No. It’s about the world. And grouping up with other players, and mobs not being free loot/tags, is also part of it.
