Rare and hard to get mounts are one thing when it comes to the event. A lot of us just saw the stupid moonbeast, the 12 month mount, in mount mania and it left a pretty bad taste in my mouth. If it’s not a mount that everyone can use (think class specific, store mounts, or profession mounts) then it shouldn’t show up in Mount Mania.

Do unobtainable mounts show up too? That really shouldn’t be a thing.
Although technically store mounts are also gold sinks.

I would wager a longboi would show up, and honestly I’m fine with that since it was purchased with gold and sure you could make the argument store mounts are also bought with gold if you buy tokens with gold; but I’d still say they shouldn’t show up. ESPECIALLY stuff like the 6/12 month promotion mounts. Basically if you have to fork over real cash as an option to get it (its in the bnet store) it shouldn’t show up.

Ya Class Specific mounts and Profession mounts shouldn’t be on the list.
I’m ok with store mounts so long as it’s been on the trading post at least once.
Unobtainable mounts are perfectly fine to have show up.

rolled a Maldraxxus mount earlier that I owned but couldn’t use because the character I was on wasn’t a necrolord
I’m not all that bothered by it though since all winning is worth is to be able to say that I won

They called out the engineer Flying Machine, which I have but couldn’t use because I wasn’t on my engineer. That made me sad.

Yoy really should get 80 Necrolord renown on at least 1 toon. Then you can use the mounts on any character.

I don’t think hours of grinding in an expansion I didn’t care for is worth a single point in an event whose only reward is 5 seconds of bragging rights

I think it cycles through most, if not all.
I saw a high honor pvp mount, one of the coursers and the swift spectral tiger in the same round lol.

And then there’s the complete opposite end of the spectrum where I saw the DF story proto drake, highland drake, and wylderdrake in one event

And it finished with the headless horseman mount.

I’ve seen M+ Keystone, Remix-exlusive, and PvP Gladiator mounts pop up. AFAIK as long as it’s not faction-specific, it’s fair game.
Honestly, the only ones I think are rude are the mounts that require a specific profession to use, like the Flying Machines, since those become “hope you’re on the right character” instead of “hope you have the mount.”

To that I’d also toss in class-specific mounts like warlock Felsteed and so forth. Because again, it sucks if you’ve earned the mount on a character but can’t use it on whatever character you’re competing on.
(Not that I’ve seen such mounts called yet but it would be rude if so.)
I can forgive everything else, like you said, because there’s a reasonable chance of players having them if they wanted. But to call for, say, the Black Qiraji Battle Tank… well, it might be iconic and would honor the game’s long history, but would definitely exclude 99.999% of the playerbase.

You don’t get anything for winning the mount competition. Literally nothing. Bragging rights for a minute to a handful of people who were in your phase? Some sparkles for a minute and the lady announces your name as the winner.
No currency, no buff, no achievement, no loot, nothing.

Eh, I have none of the pvp mounts but all of the store mounts. I have all of the ksm mounts and most of the aotc mounts. There are quite a few rare mounts I don’t have.
I do think class mounts shouldn’t be counted but other than that, all other mounts are fair game imo.
Yes they do, and they absolutely should show up. This is mount mania not obtainable mania.

Given how many exclusive (in one form or another) mounts exist in the game, perhaps it’s best not to get too competitive about the event.
