Remove Starfall Aggro?

My Druid is Artanie-Illidan, I just got kicked from a leveling dungeon.

Despite that I don’t understand why that tank was idiotically skipping everything in a leveling dungeon, I never pulled anything myself. However, someone kept pulling extras till the first boss, after which I was kicked and got the deserter debuff. Of course no matter who pulled the extras, Starfall always gets the aggro making it looks like I pulled, especially when my Druid is overgeared for lvl 70.

I said nothing and did more damage than the other four people combined for the limited run duration. I can’t think of other reasons that got me kicked.
I totally understand if Starfall makes it look like I pulled the extras.
But… is this what I deserved for being a quiet damage dealer following everything the teammates want?

I don’t even mind getting kicked if this is what these newbies can comprehend, but the the 30-minute no-queuing debuff is probably too much for the limited time I have for WoW after work everyday…

So, how about we remove the Starfall aggro so that the Moonkins won’t be blamed for such false accusations…

There’s no problem to solve here. When playing with other people, you may sometimes have disagreements and misunderstandings.

Take it on the chin and move on…no need to start speaking about what you do and don’t deserve.

Starfall only hits things in combat.

However, older dungeons may have NPCs who “fake combat” but they actually use real combat. “Cosmetic combat” in newer dungeons (Legion onwards) is a bug IF Starfall pulls them.

With that said, if you got kicked for someone else’s mistake. Now you have this info.

I literally did everything I should and nothing I shouldn’t. Then I got banned from queuing for 30 minutes… And you said there’s no problems to solve.

Its a leveling dungeon. Starfall causing issues? Stop using it until you get into a dungeon range where it isnt pulling aggro.

What I am guessing happened is not that you were starfall. But that you were tab targeting Moonfire and Sunfire. And tab targeting mobs in different packs on accident. It happens.

The other thing is based on how you are phrasing it, there is many times two sides to the story. Could it be, that you were in a leveling dungeon, and were frustrated the tank was skipping a lot of mobs. So in an effort to get more exp, you were using Moonfire or Sunfire to pull some extra mobs to the tank to get more exp?

I only infer that, because you refer to the tank skipping everything as idiotic. However, in leveling dungeons, it is more efficient to skip what you can to get to the end ASAP. As the chunk of EXP at the end is what you are after. So by skipping packs, the tank was trying to move as fast as possible.

I have done plenty of dungeons, both with boomkin and as a boomkin. Never have I had starfall issues. And I have leveled a bunch of toons. Aside from kicking a DC, I have never seen a votekick in a leveling dungeon unless the person was trolling or just being a jerk.

So again, based on what you have typed. Making an inference using personal experiences to relate. I think that, you made some comments to the group that the tank was bad or doing something wrong by skipping mobs. The group and tank ignored you. You took it upon yourself to correct the “idiotic tank” by pulling trash mobs. The group then votekicked you for your behavior.

So does it pull everything others facepulled without doing much damage on.

I know that. It was a City of Threads. Someone kept running into packs while I was Starfalling the mobs the tank pulled. Of course I got all those aggros.

But then at least 3 of them thought “Ok that druid kept pulling extras let’s kick him.”

“Issues” is debatable, but if someone else butt pulls while you have starfall up, then starfall will immediately damage them and make it appear to others who don’t know better than the druid is the one pulling the extra mobs.

Typically nobody cares because its a leveling dungeon and you just kill the mobs with the others and who cares. But I’ve seen vote kicks for dumber things too.

What a great detective! Could you enlighten me since when did this community become like this (you)?

Let’s hope you never get into troubles so that people won’t just say “hey you don’t know what your are doing and we heard only your side of the story”…

So please stop with your imaginations.

Also, in case my words still count to you, I can assure you that:

  1. True, I don’t think it was necessary to skip everything.
  2. I typed and sent literally nothing, not a single letter or symbol or whatever you can think of in the chat, except possibly some default DBM messages I never paid attention to.
  3. The team sent nothing either.
  4. I pulled nothing myself and concentrated all my active spells on whatever the tank pulled.

The majority of xp in a leveling dungeon comes from the completion bonus. Killing lots of low xp mobs uses up time that would be better spent re-queueing after a fast dungeon completion.

Thanks for clarification.

I thought starfall ONLY affected enemies you actually were already in combat with now or something?

Yeah, nothing you can really do about that.

Yes, but if others face-pulled mobs in Starfall range without doing enough damage on them, your Starfall will immediately do damage to the mobs and get aggros accordingly.

If this is the case then they were just jerks. But, since they are not likely to defend themselves here, we only have your side. There are always two sides. And I based what I said on my experiences. Doesnt make them true or correct. Just makes them an opinion that I am basing on past experiences.

Maybe I phrased myself inappropriately so we constantly missed the point.
We are not here to determine what actually happened and I didn’t speak out any name so neither side needs to throughly validate or defend anything.

I merely pointed out a case, yes probably with some emotions at that time, where Moonkins can be falsely accused for other people’s fault as long as they are using their designated AOE spell. Having a solution to that may improve the game environment and player experience a bit.
