Having spent several hours getting through the Nightborne pre-quests (Insurrection and the ones before), I’m now stuck on the quest Stabalizing Suramar which asks to do 10 world quests.
Firstly) Can we please remove the timegate from an old quest like this?
Secondly) Can we please remove this quest from the questline? For people like me who missed Legion expansion, I have to rep grind a bunch of zones just to unlock the ability to do world quests. This is easily going to take ~20h to clear super old content just to unlock a new race on a new toon.
It’s beyond demoralizing spending a lot of time trying to unlock a race only to find you’re not even close (even though in the quest line, you’re almost near the end).
Not that anyone cares or will do anything but hey felt good to vent about a stupid mechanic locking content I’ve payed for many times over.
Update: So it took me around 3 hours of like intense questing doing all sorts of random quests and a bunch of stories and quest lines to finally now unlock the ability to continue this nuts quest… i cant imagine doing this vanilla. I had a level 60 and fast flying and it still took a focused/intense 3h…
Update 2: Finished it, now have all horde toons unlocked.
As Cartman once said, “and now we can play the game”
I just did this recently, and I know it’s a little frustrating to hit a dead end, but I don’t remember having to grind any reps to do world quests in Legion? And I was on an alt I know I definitely did not play through any Legion content …
Even if you only have one or two zones unlocked you should be able to do the 10 WQs in a couple of days. Just do something else with your time when you run out of WQs to do for the day. Again, I sympathize, I agree it’s annoying, but you’re probably better off finding self-made solutions because it does not seem like Blizzard has any intent of further changing these AR unlocks.
Meanwhile my DK can’t get his legion artifact appearance because FREAKING BALANCE OF POWER IS STILL NOT ACCOUNT WIDE!!! and I don’t have revered rep with norse guys. Gotta wait till next legion TW to roll around to buy a bunch of tokens. So stupid.
I was doing a bit of reading on it, and if youve hit friendly with all major groups on any character then itd count. So likely youve done it at least one before.
Tis true, self made answers is the way to go here just a bit salty haha. I only have so many hours a month to game so when i find out that Im still a ways off because of the rep lock it bummed me out haha.
(The rep is required to finish a quest which then unlocks world quests in legion).
I’ve been saying from the start that unlocking allied races would be cancer if you didn’t play legion or BFA.
Blizzard should literally just remove all requirements to unlock the embassy quest.
Then new players can just walk into the embassy and do the little storyline for the race (which are usually pretty cool because they give you some backstory for the race)…
But making a new player literally do the ENTIRE WAR CAMPAIGN AND TIDES OF VENGEANCE to unlock Kul’Tiran is actually just toxic.
Thankfully tho i sped through it with my lvk 60 but even still it was a huge pain to go through all those questlines to just unlock the ability to do world quests lol.
I think the most annoying thing was Id get one step closer only to find out i had to do another step. (Like apparently you cant just fly in Stoneheim, you have to do a few rando quests about your class and then invading, and THEN you can get rep for them lol)
Agreed. Change it to a level 10 requirement and do this.
That way, new players walk out of the tutorial zone, tour the city, get taken to the Embassy and then they can run the scenarios to unlock the races. They make an Allied Race and bam, they’re level 10, right where they left off on the original character.
