Remove Race appearance Disguise Time Limits

In Wow there are many ways to disguise your characters appearance. There are toys and gizmos and potions and quest rewards that help you look like a character from another race or faction. These disguises are a lot of fun. The list is too long to post here. But there are two things that these disguises have in common, and that is time duration limits and long cool-downs.

The duration of an appearance transformation can range from 5 minutes to an hour. But the cool-down to use it again can range from hours to 24 hours.

Since these are simple and fun cosmetic transformation items. I feel there really is no need for restricting the amount of time a player can disguise their character because it has no impact on game-play or game-balance.

I would like to ask Blizzard to remove the time restrictions on appearance changing items. So that people can keep their characters disguise effect as long as they want.

Specially now with the introduction of the Gleeful Glamour system.

That’s true of most toys unfortunately. Blizzard has always had a weird hate for them and gives them ridiculous cooldowns to guarantee you can use them as little as possible.

There’s no visible rhyme or reason to it and it’s been an annoyance for the game’s entire lifespan. I wish you luck in your endeavor, though.

But then how would they make money off race and faction changes?

What you’re asking for won’t happen because of those character services.

Well an idea would be, perhaps sell these Disguise items unrestricted-time versions in the Wow cash shop at a reasonable price. Even add to the disguises list for sale.

I’d rather they be standard length of time with a standard cooldown across all of those type of disguises.

Using a race disguise Illusion as a Dracthyr and then using Soar is utterly hilarious.

you swim through the air.

This is the most common sense answer to the issue.

  1. They all should have the same CD and duration.
  2. The duration should be as long as the CD. The weird 10min / 4 hour duration ratio on a cosmetic is ridiculous.
  3. Quite frankly… there is no reason to have CD’s on the cosmetics to begin with. The only reason you could have is PVP use, and you can easily… as most toys already are, ban them in Battlegrounds / Arenas. Problem solved.

Just for those that want the ability to change appearance all the time there is one food item that fits this bill:

The Savory Deviate Delight in World of Warcraft transforms a character into a pirate or ninja for 60 minutes. But you can do it again after 10 seconds.
If your character is male, it will transform to a male human either pirate or ninja.
If your character is female it will transform into a female human pirate or ninja.
The pirate/ninja are random. But if lets say you change into a pirate but you wanted to change into a ninja all you need do is pop another Deviate Delight and get a ninja.
You can carry a bunch of stacks and pop these as you want.

Savory Deviate Delight Food Item. Consumable
Item Level 18
Use: Eat me. (10 Sec Cooldown)
Max Stack: 20
Sell Price: 5

Recipe: Savory Deviate Delight
Item Level 18
Requires Cooking (85)
Use: Teaches you how to cook a Savory Deviate Delight.
Sell Price: 1 15

You can cook these yourself or just buy stacks of them at the auction house.

I agree. The two hour cool-down on Gleeful Glamour should be removed.

Or at least reduce the cool-down to one hour since the max rank Gleeful Glamour will last for one hour.

You can’t show your mog with Deviate Delights the way you can with Atomic Recalibrator or Gleeful Glamour

I agree 100% with this! Plus why the duration times of between 20 minutes to one hour?
What’s the point of these times the buff will last? Why not as long as you want?

its a small wonder why people use programs like imorph when irvine bluehairs feel the need to arbitrarily restrict people’s ability to do these things for no reason

i was so excited when blizzard announced gleeful glamour - i thought to myself “finally, we can have the atomic recalibrator appearance permanently.”

nope, two hour cooldown… why? i have to pay gold to buy them on the AH, it would be a good gold sink… just let me buy 24 of them and use them all day long if i want.

Yeah I thought the same thing but then I noticed that depending on the quality it would only last either 20 minutes 30 minutes or one hour but also had a 2 hour cooldown. Whats the point?

Blizzard has always hated fun, cosmetics are the last piece of wow that still holds onto the absurdly long cooldowns of old
