Remove PvE incentives from warmode

Alliance now gets 30% bonus to the static 10% horde gets (which never changes) Even though on some shards alliance out number the horde.

Clearly balancing warmode shards has failed so let’s just take all PvE incentives away as well as the alliance AOO quest for warmode (as that is PvE centric as well).

In place of that add PvP benefits such as world quests also awarding pvp rewards if you have warmode turned on such as a mark of honour, PvP only consumables, Maybe conquest, or PvP gear tokens (and actually add a PvP vendor).

Thoughts?

Can’t we just remove PvP and call it even?

Blizzard wants the PvEers to have it on so that Horde gankers can kill lowbies and get their Lulz.

I’m curious why it even bother you so much that you want it removed? I mean it doesn’t bother me at all they get 30% or gear from AOO. Good for them. If you think its so OP you can always switch to Alliance. To me this doesnt seem like a pressing issue thats affecting anyone’s gameplay…

If you give pvp rewards and one side is already overpowering the other - won’t you just make the strong stronger and the weak weaker ?

Remove all extra rewards is what needs to be done.

While people can turn Warmode off at anytime, I still think all the incentives being used are ultimately destructive. It’s not really getting more people to “try” PVP, it’s mostly getting PVE players in and out for a quick reward. I suppose that shouldn’t bother PVP players, but it does. A lot of Horde players are angry at Alliance PVE players when they don’t turn on Warmode, or angry at them when they respond to an incentive “bribed”.

I think that the gaming environment would be healthier overall if most incentives for Warmode were removed. I think most PVP players would rather play with other PVP players, and not PVE players who had to be “bribed” to play with them.

If you have a perception of one side being overpowerd you can always opt out of wPvP, change servers, change faction. I mean either way it doest really have an impact on me that they get 30% increased xp or a weekly quest that gives them a random piece of gear. Personally I think they should make even more rewards and incentives for people to wPvP or bring back PvP servers

I am pretty sure blizzard has accurate numbers and a reason to be giving alliance bonuses to participate.

You realize on some shards they outnumber horde and are STILL getting increased rewards right?

I have no desire to play alliance, but just handing them free gear for turning it on for a quest and turning it off for the week is kinda broken.

Horde for life!

On some shards sure, but in a given area it’s either majority alliance or majority horde whilst alliance always gets the buff. Seems they are taking the total number in the world with it on/off and using that to determine the buff rather then in a given area/region.

I dont see how that is PVE centric when the quest is literally to pvp.

I hear OCE servers are Alliance-heavy but follow NA region rules, so Alliance players still get their 30% and AOO.

The reward is PVE, since it still works when you turn WM off. If the gear was flagged to only offer stats/benefits when WM was turned on, then you could have all the AOO gear you want. But since you turn WM on, do PVP for 10min, then turn WM back off and still benefit from the gear, that reward is PVE-centric.

That’s because they aren’t separate from NA like EU is. You can freely pass between NA and OCE shards.

Thus, it actually does consider the OCE population when deciding on AOO/Warmode bonus for the week. Its just that the slant is so heavy on NA proper that it outweighs and overwhelms the slant on OCE

I am for that. Or just keep it to BGs and arenas. Lets those that want pvp to be locked in that place. Their gear can look like they assembled it from the refuse bin. Cardboard tube for a sword. Maybe a pillow tided to them representing armour. All abilities do the same exact damage no matter the class.

When rolling a character you select pvp or PVE. Selecting pvp means you are in a gladiator staging area, going into BGs and arenas. Never have to step out into the world.

Yes…do this after Horde have enjoyed unlimited WM access for two whole patches and three teirs. Its like a man who had drink his fill telling a dehydrated crowd that everyone should be good now that he drank water.

Selfish much?

What unlimited WM access ? Horde had no more access to it than Alliance did. Blizzard’s shard technology was junk back then, like it’s junk now. So Alliance kept gettting sharded to heavy overpopulated shards, and somehow this turned into the false narrative that Horde population extremely overwhelms Alliance population.

This victim complex needs to end already. We had 10% bonuses for what? 4 months or so … until 8.1 came out. If Blizzard gave you 30% straight bonus for 4 months to make up for it, you’d still complain about some fictional Horde bias in WM.

delete PVP from the game.

it’s cancer.

Which they do. Just saying let us enjoy this for a teir. You guys had your fun of unfetter acess. Two patches we were left out a 10% reimbursement for each patch is not too much to asked.

Also since our 30. Horde have been complaining about alliance showing up and punching you guys right in the mouth.

Seems to me you want pvp but only with a controlled alliance number and that horde should always win thr majority of the time.

Thats selfish.

I think they should toss War Mode in the trash heap of bad ideas poorly implemented and go back to pve/pvp servers.

Let people who want to pvp migrate to pvp servers and the ones that don’t go to the pve ones.

Then everyone is happy again. Well except the lowbie getting camped in STV by someone 100 levels above him.

Two patches? The bonuses were added in 8.1, and AOO kicked in shortly after that. We had “unfettered access” for 4 months… from release until mid December when 8.1 came out, that’s 1 tier.

If i land in Nazjatar to do a WQ and get stormed by 5 Alliance, I take my lumps, I don’t come here to cry about it. Note that 5:1 ratio – the same one Alliance players seem to claim only happens to them. I’m glad you’re all out and about in the world. Can’t win every fight, nor would I want to.

Now imagine if you had WM on ALL THE TIME … brave new world.

And then WM would be completely empty.
