I’m just not really for this single player experience that I’ve been getting in BFA. I just hate how we have to tear down any team or guild aspects of the game. I’m just supposed to sit there and watch my teammate suffer with a 370 weapon and laugh at him 10 weeks into the raid tier? Like how is that okay?
The problem was we couldn’t trade it to him because of the trading restrictions. Again our Holy Paladin and our tank who decided to come in on his warrior 1 night got a Taloc weapon before our main dps warrior who was progressing on that character for 10. weeks.
Having raided with and without master loot, I still would rather have master looting. Players have a choice and if they don’t like their guilds loot system, then discuss it or move on to a guild with a system you are more comfortable with. The problem is with loot feeding and Blizzard wasn’t a fan of that. I mean just look at the extent Method went to do their work around to look feed before the Mythic BoD race. Talk about crazy…
But in the end we just have to come to accept that it probably isn’t coming back. They have been pretty firm on this point and I don’t think there is enough pressure to bring it back to make them change their minds.
See, I do not recall that…but it does sound familiar. So I’m going to go back and review it all again.
I can confirm, not from my experience as I have not had the schedule to dedicate to a mythic team (also was in the countryside with a crap minimum 150ms internet connection), that this does occur.
I had several friends during legion ask me to go over logs from raids where they had been trialing for several weeks and then been told “nope, not performing well enough” and then gone with nothing for their time.
A few had…issues they needed to fix. At least 2 as I recall were performing, as well as I could tell of course, well. Upper third of dps, high % for their roles. They were frustrated and both quit the game in the end.
Do I believe all guilds behave in such ways? No in fact I believe most guilds do not (though some I think did so without meaning to and without intent to do so). Do I believe that predatory guilds exist? Yes, yes I do. And they have hosed all the guilds that were not. That sucks, collective responsibility always does,
I have, and you can see this elsewhere in this thread, advocated for some changes to personal loot. Ease the Ilvl restriction range on a per tier basis such so that later drops can be more easily traded. Also sockets and extra stats need to have “virtual ilvl” so that they do not prevent you from trading 5-10 ilvl higher gear
My thing is this. If we need to have Forced Personal Loot then fine. Lets have PL. But remove the trading restrictions from 100% guild runs so teams can act like teams and help each other out.
THIS. I dont raid, started playing wow at bfa release ( just started to have time for pc gaming again) but the human nature thing is true whether its a game or RL. Some people for whatever reason are just uncaring, inconsiderate losers. So because live GM’s would be required in vast numbers to police their rude antisocial behavior with certain systems in game, the developers chose to remove the freedom of said system for something less ideal or “fun” in interest of neutering the Inconsiderates.
This is NOT why they did it, this is the manufactured reason the anti-ML crowd clings to in spite of Ion him self being on recorded video in an interview giving the EXACT REASONS why they did it.
If you stick in a bad situation in a guild that doesn’t treat you like you like to be treated and treats you equal to the rest of the team…that’s all on you man. It’s not a job, its not how you make your living, you really are never forced or even pressured to remain in a bad situation here. Stop slumming it in those guilds, do some research, find a good one. They exist in abundance but you still have to do leg work and probably interview and all that jazz.
This argument that trial were getting screwed is old and with the ability to trade personal loot has not changed the status quo. Like, at all. All those guilds you speak about are out there making trials give up personal drops still.
100% trading on things that are not a personal upgrade is what exists already its stops trial abuse, blizzard changed the azerite trading, only thing left is fix stat weights being unbalanced for rings mostly and the weapon trading.
Sadly the players themselves necessitated the removal of master loot, with loot scams and “trials” which were just another means for players to deny loot to a player. If it were not for the rotten apples in the barrel, and it becoming a increasing customer service complaint, this is why we can’t have nice things.
Hi! GM Jalen here! Or was…I passed it on in January when I let my sub run out. And if our HPally did say he wanted to go Ret, then I would tell him these exact words…
“Just hang on for now and we’ll start looking for a healer to take your place. Until then, would you mind staying Holy until we find a suitable replacement?”
would you let him keep the 2H weapon or force him to give it to the warrior who needs it now? ( i already know the answer). this is what blizzard is worried about.
You have no idea how many guild guilds #@$# over trials. Sometimes trials last for months in extreme cases. The best part is when you get out of trial, guess who the loot is going to? Not you that’s who. Personal loot was done to counter this BS trial system. I get it, why does a trial deserve loot over core members, but at the same time you can’t treat them like a slaves. This my opinion on the matter as a player who started in vanilla and seen it all.
