Please, there is absolutely no reason for a 20 man mythic raid group to have personal loot. Or at least go back to having the option to pick what you would like to run with as a guild. What is the rationale us not being able to control where loot goes in our raid group?
Hell, I’d even take an uh, default however many items with Master Loot, but if you ran with Personal Loot a chance at an extra item. Just please give us the option to control how we distribute loot, please.
Meh, its nothing but absolutely fair to have the option for both. Pug groups for the first few mythic bosses can still run PL if they wish. Just give us the damn option.
Keep personal loot the same in other difficulties.
Well, maybe if the trial actually stuck out staying in one raid group for a while, they wouldn’t be a trial. But hey, Blizzard just seems to love [Removed] over people in this game who do consistent group content. But I guess since people who do mythic raiding just don’t matter since we’re such a small percentile of the game. But it’s become just utterly depressing.

Trial has now been mythic raiding for pretty much 2 entire tiers and has no gear to show for it.
THIS is why they did it. Because regardless of what you or the OP think, trials were being abused by Mythic Raid Guilds who had 17-18 people and needed 2-3 extra people to fill their roster, with no intention of keeping those “trials” on permanently.
Blizzard enabled a hard 20 requirement on Mythic Raids, and unfortunately, when people left a close-knit group of 20, people don’t want to invite a new person in and get to know them. They’d rather just find a disposable person.
Yes, when it gets down to 15-16, they’ll find new people, but when it’s just 2-3, they’ll do what I described.
And before people search me, I do not mythic raid. However, I have friends who did “trial” and got put into this exact situation during Legion. Multiple times. Multiple friends.
So you’ve been in 5 separate guilds and trialled for 3 months in each and every one of them?
In my entire time in the mythic raid scene, I have never seen this happen. If trials do not fit they know within two-three weeks. No guild runs on a 17-18 man roster and rotates new trials because they don’t want to get to “know” a new person, that is just utterly untrue. The scenarios you speak of happen on an incredibly small basis.
I’ll choose to doubt. Mythic guilds don’t work the way you’ve described, much less 3-5 of them for entire tiers with only 17-18 core raiders. Plus, if you’re friends were consistently late, absent, not performing, dying early in fights, getting other people killed, not doing a m+ per week to gear themselves then expecting to get gear from raid or more, they shouldn’t have been promoted.
Finding a disposable person when they don’t even have a 20 man core? Guilds raiding mythic would do anything to have a stable 20.
If it happened in 4-5 guilds for you friends? Something isn’t adding up for your friends. And all the removal of ML has done is make guilds choose geared pugs over guildies that can’t perform well.
Yep. I’ve found it’s common of the ones that bash on guilds, raiding mythic and ML have no idea how mythic raid guilds actually work.
This would actually work too. But I guess we’re just super toxic for trying to gear certain classes for a certain fight, or just give priority to our most reliable raiders and consistent raiders.
Regardless of how little things happened wasn’t just the trial issue there was a few handful of issues and regardless of how small it falls under the saying “this is why we cant have nice things” and the “ruins it for everyone else” type deal. There was certain trends that were starting to pop up and even if it was just small tiny fraction blizzard choose to nip it in the bud before it became the norm.
I personally believe if your running a full or even 80% guild run the RL should have the right to choose the method of looting as if your in a guild you know loot rules before running with them. However in small and maybe even rare occasions it was abused so blizzard kinda took out the method of abuse. Is it sad of course but again it goes back to the small % who ruined it for everyone else.
I was in a mythic guild in WoD and they ran with the council. And would only funnel loot to certain people. This is why I’m all for personal loot. I got screwed over on multiple occasions
