Remove Personal Loot From Mythic Raiding

i trialed for 1 month. then left after realized this trial was taking too long, i checked the guild roster in game and found other at the trial rank and the guild leader use to post what date people joined the guild in there comment.

Well apparently blizzard has the insight and knows it’s occuring often enough since they changed it.

i hope some of that RP is bannable, i can;t see it not being, i dont care whether lfr exists, not sure of anyone who really uses it. rest of your post is ranting.

Yeah, and instead of banding behind players that had options taken away from us (something GD SWEARS they’re against, yeah right) the community just continues the attack without knowing any of us personally. Why not try to put up a united front to get ML back with stricter rules of implementation to help prevent abuse, since Blizz took away how we like to play they’ll sure come for something you enjoy next.

Who cares though right? We are all clearly evil and don’t deserve to play how we want and therefore should be the subject of constant personal attacks on our morality and behavior. Glad you all know me so very terribly well.

my whole take is someone internal failed a trial or didnt get a piece on their first night because a main player needed it, got realllllll hurt feelings, then pushed this change internally.

summed up: “who hurt you?”

You’re very correct there. But this is also assuming that said guild leaders/loot councils actually care about seeing their team succeed, which not all of them do. They just want people to use and abuse so they can gear themselves up.

Sure they probably won’t get to the harder stuff later but if you can gear yourself up quickly with stuff from the earlier easier stuff with the intent of jumping ship, why not do it if it’s in their personality to be a self-serving butthole?

your the ones making these forums talking about how you want master looter back. then asked why and it is shown because you feel you deserve loot more than the other guy. It’s the ones who make these threads that are hurting, im enjoying these changes. Now when i go to a boss i know i have a chance to get an upgrade, which when trialing you went to bosses knowing you weren’t aloud upgrades

You are the real one who is hurt, I’m loving this change

I’d bet a good majority of the anti-ML people in this thread who are using the word “trial” don’t even really understand what it means.

There are lots of people who don’t raid but like to be in top-end guilds that do raid and for obvious reasons
they occasionally benefit from being in that top-end guild by getting free/easy raid clears and access to top-end loot.

Those players don’t attend raids regularly and avoid all the grind of progression and only pop in when a boss is on farm to snag an item or two before disappearing again.

Those players aren’t “trials” though. They’re casual members of Mythic guilds and most of the time it’s perfectly understood between both sides that loot that the guild and raiders need will go to them first and then whatever is left will go to the trials first and then casual members next.

The problem is when someone wants to be Mr. Casual-Attend-One-Raid-A-Month and then got butthurt because an item they really wanted was given to someone else over them.

A trial is a new member to a raid team who is “trying out” to be a regular member of the core team. It’s completely counter-intuitive to deny them loot they could use or do anything that would make them struggle or fail their trial.

Guilds WANT them to succeed.

Now a casual tag along member? Guilds don’t care about them and frequently resent their presence and wish they weren’t there but tolerate them if the group needs bodies.

If you’re going to pout about guilds not giving people loot then at least recognize the difference between an actual trial raider and someone who’s just a member of a raiding guild.

so your argument is Chess not Checkers here? players joining a guild, staying in it long enough to become an officer, then gear themselves up thru these nefarious dastardly means throughout the course of another 3-4 months, THEN they jump ship? WHERES MY CHARLIE KELLY MEME

Because they won’t finish the raid and won’t get invited to another team because word will spread of what happened. Or the person will gain a reputation of jumping ship. This has happened on my realm and has helped me in making decisions on who to invite and not to invite.

no they become officers then have no reason to jump ship cause loot is theirs to control.

Not anymore. hahaha

You sure? It’s very easy to be sneaky about that sort of thing these days. Hard to track someone that’s changed servers, names and factions.

Best example is when the leader of the top guild of my server at the time ninja’ed the Ragnaros mount from Firelands with the intent to leave the guild and move elsewhere. As far as I know he received no justice for his actions.

you are missing the point entirely methinks, we’re pissed we dont have ML because WE CANNOT HELP OUR TEAM AS A WHOLE. Trials are volatile investments, some stay, some go, some fail, and more yet succeed. every single raider i play with and talk to are upset we cannot benefit our team as a whole by optimally distributing loot, which actively harms progression pace and thus the goal of the guild in general.

No it isn’t. You may not trust me on this. But I’ve been in plenty of debates and arguments on Twitter and ED Forums where some detective work was needed to nail someone to the wall. If need be, there’s always a way to keep tabs on certain players.

The justice was that he had to fork over money to Blizzard to try and hide him. Which if players are smart, can easily catch them in the act and nail’em.

you can help them, after you get the item everytime you get a equal or lesser version you can give it to any of them you want. you just dont want an item going to me, when you feel you deserve it more.

Fair enough. But when you do manage to track someone, what then?

And then they just laugh at you for putting in the effort and nothing is done about them in the first place. If they’re an awesome player (in this case the mentioned leader was also their main tank) transferring to a better guild, do you think they’re going to kick such an asset to their team?

no? i want an item going to whoever its a larger upgrade for overall combined with “will this person be here for final boss prog” will it benefit us in the long run? we geared the crap out of 2 trials last night on reclear with no complaints anywhere to be seen. I’m sorry but you are so set in this victim mentality/argument that you legit cannot tolerate the thought that a group decided someone else is a better investment than yourself for logical and beneficial reasons.

As someone who was top 100 world, top 10 allstars warlock in WoD. ML was leagues better for progression as a guild. I was the first person in my guild to get the Archimonde trinket and it showed on my parses and our overall kill times. If it was up to RNG looting it we couldn’t of possibly gotten our kill rankings.

There’s a reason so many guilds quit raiding, RNG loot isn’t fair. Rankings almost have no merit anymore. Damage is done though, barely any subs these days. Hope they were happy with the decision.

if you stopped at who it was a bigger upgrade for i would be more on your side its the rest of the stuff that shows your true intentions. Blizzard can see this, has data on it, and put a stop to your trial abuse.

you geared your trials with items that were seen as scrap literally to the rest of your team.

RNG loot is absolutely more fair. they quit raiding because they cant take advantage of others for their gain.
