Now we’re in Wrath, and shamans still have to spend a talent point to get parry. Don’t get me wrong, I think spirit weapons is a great talent and should remain as is, but just without having to get it to get parry. Having to spend a point to get parry was a weird in Classic, it was weird in TBC, and it’s still weird now in Wrath. All shamans should be able to parry no matter the spec they have. Thoughts?
Only makes sense for Enhancement since they are primarily melee fighters. Giving parry to Ele/Resto would increase their surviviability even more in PVP and I think that is a road people would start complaining about.
But I don’t play shaman much so…
True. Would it would just be 5% more avoidance (and only when hit from the front). Would it really make much of a difference for a resto or a ele shammy in PVP?
Exactly this.
And yes 5% is a lot.
Enough to make ele shamans and resto shamans unbalanced tho?
Yes, 5% is a lot even if it may seem insignificant to you.
Why are you bothered by the talent point? If the talent would be great without it, why is it not great with it? Are you perhaps…not enhance and you want parry anyway for some reason? Maybe because…5% parry is actually a lot and would be a nice boost?
It comes down to it was there in wrath and as such should be there in wrath classic.
Blizzard should NOT be adjusting the balance of classes no matter how minor.
This is a very slipper slope that leads to them potentially changing the meta. People are comming to play wrath classic not wrath plus we don’t want the meta changing we want to play the meta we remember. This means if in the final patch of wrath warriors where better than dks warriors should end up better than dks no matter how strong dks are in first tier and weak warriors are.
If frost mage was worthless in pve and a great spec in pvp we want that to stay we don’t want frost becoming the top or even just better in pve.
Esp as many players have already picked what they want to play we don’t want blizzard to flip a swich and make our class go from the top or middle pack to lower than it is as this dose change peoples want to play a given class as some peoples reason to play a class is to be meta as they where not last time round.
But IF they were to start anywhere, can I get my revenge stun proc back instead of a cleave. Its been baked in my brain for 3 years it feels wrong to not see it.
Parry doesnt work while casting, which both Resto and Ele do A LOT.
I legit dont think Ele/Resto getting 5% parry would be as big as people think given how little itd come into play.
I mean, dont do it because thata a fundamental class mechanics difference from Wrath but it wouldnt be a HUGE ONE.
Hes a shaman tank, he wants to be able to Parry without having -30% threat reduction. Not sure why OP isn’t as upfront about this on their initial post
Bro take these bad suggestions to retail where they belong. This is WRATH CLASSIC. Not wrath+, not retail, not cata, not burgerking.
NO CHANGES.

That’s right, I forgot about that. They wouldn’t be able to parry while casting anyways.
I mean, yes, I would love that, still doesn’t take away from the fact that having something as basic as parry tied to a talent 20 points down on a tree makes sense.
I try not to bring that up too often. Every time that’s brought up the thread just goes into weird tangents away from the original topic.
Well even for no changes, it’s still a silly thing to put in a talent.
You’re asking for all shamans to get a free 5% parry buff they wouldn’t otherwise have. The entire reason it is in the page is so that other shamans do NOT have it.
No it wouldn’t be a big issue they are just trolling.
I’ve never experienced a single moment in pvp as a caster where the melee aren’t doing figure eights through the backside of my hitbox. People acting like this would break ele and resto and make them OP are full of it or don’t PvP.
I mean shamans can get that 5% parry ‘buff’ they just have to spend talent points to get it…
This is Wrath. A game developed more than 10 years ago. I think you are a little late for making this suggestion.
Yeah, I know
Still weirder things have happened
No, they should have to get the talent to have parry like it is intended. Some classes don’t even have the option for getting it through a talent so Shamans should consider themselves lucky in the first place
I think that’s a fair point. There are some classes that do not get parry. Even so, the placement and the talent it is tied with do not make sense.
