With ZG and AQ having zero requirements to step inside, what is the point of still having Ony quest requirement? It was pseudo nostalgic to do it once one alliance, the easier quest, and once on horde, worst quest chain ever, but now that we are in p5 why not remove it?

Because it was never removed in the first place from the original Classic WoW.Doesn’t matter how trivial it is, thats part of the integrity of the game.

If you don’t want to do it then skip it. The T2 is replaced in many cases anyway.

You could never group que in AV, etc, etc…the tegridy left a long time ago.
Its not enough for you to just not do it. No, no…no one else should be able to do it either. Great community, this one.

Ok you changed my mind, I’ll settle for one quest to kill last boss in UBRS for the talisman. This puts it on par with mc and bwl attunement.
Just do the quest like everyone else has. If you don’t want to, then don’t kill Ony. All the loot is going to be obsolete anyways.

zg is for smaller 20 man guilds that don’t want to pug MC.
it’s not supposed to have a requirement, even level 55’s are leveling in there.
AQ requires a giant war effort or waiting requirement to get inside.
They deserve a nasty quest chain for picking dirty horde.
This is an MMORPG. Group quests, including attunements, were put in the game for good reason. They are supposed to encourage people to be social and to use teamwork to accomplish an objective, because it’s good for the community. You should do that. I’m sure there are other people around with alts that need it.

So, I read your post and got curious. I logged into retail, set a timer and headed off to kill Ony. I was looting at 3:55 and that included travel time. If you are in such a hurry to kill Onyxia, just go to retail.

Well that is the thing, the hardest part of the ony quest chain I remember was the assembly of a group of 10 players, (9 with you included) to defeat ubrs, which grants atonement to bwl as well.
If you can’t handle drak you likely will have problems with higher level raids, much better than the link achievements implemented in wrath. As for aq40 while it doesn’t have such a requirement there is the issue of the playerbase, they will likely need nr gear and standard gear.
Assembling an ubrs group should be easy, the raid has the same difficulty as late end dungeons but with more people.

The only inconsistency in this analogy is that the “cashier” you’re talking to not only has the power but often grants your wish.

In related requests: Please have an NPC that sells the tier items and other raid loot from MC, Ony, BLW and ZG, since AQ is coming out and running that content is now rendered pointless.

Actually I’m working on my 4th level 60, so I think I’ll just skip ony attunement this time around. At least alliance version is 1000 times easier than horde!

i guess could replace my ony neck by bwl neck but still onyxia is still good for that neck

How about do the quest, get rewarded by being able to zone into Ony lair, like everyone else. Its people like you who ruined WoW, wanting to change stuff because x, y , z

Wait, back up a sec. Are players waiting till they are L60 to get attuned? I do it as part of the leveling process, and why wouldn’t you?
Unless those who don’t want to do attunements are getting boosted to 60.
