Please remove the Mythic Locking system. There’s no reason to keep it.
What would the value be in removing it?
easier to find fills for later bosses in prog
Easier to boot people and invite the meta comp for each boss.
Would be nice to prog on the bosses that you haven’t downed yet.
Both of these are resolved entirely by joining a guild with a consistent roster and schedule.
The roster boss is the most difficult one it seems. I hope the spore raid that’s flex means they’ll do flex raids going forward for mythic.
flex for mythic would make raiding so much worse it’s insane. Remove the lockout if necessary but there is no chance they keep it for the main raid of a tier
How would it make it worse? I could also see them waiting to make it flex until world first happens. I guess they could also wait until the hall of fame is filled. But it seems as though many guilds struggle to have 20 people consistently online at scheduled times.
Some ratio in the flex is always going to be easier. You just can’t tightly tune the numbers/mechanics if you have to account for anywhere from 15-25 players.
Because of people on bench. Right now a lot of guilds will carry like 25 people on roster, to have 5 backups in case people call off. Sucks to be one but just part of mythic.
Now let’s say there’s flex. 15-25man since that’s what sporefall is and most people suggest that. Guilds will need to keep 5 or so more than 25 man instead, making there be 30 on the roster. But with flex, there always will be a specific # of raiders that make the fights insanely easy comparatively. So with 30 on the roster, there’s a fight that you make the encounter harder unless you bring 15. That causes half of the raid to be on the bench. Flex raids cause significantly larger rosters to the detriment of everyone involved. They can take out the mythic lockout if they’d like, but I’m sure blizzard knows how much worse flex would be in a main raid setting.
If Bliz were to provide some sort of legally binding ironclad statement that Mythic raiding’s design would not change at all in order to facilitate or accomodate the idea that Mythic should be cleared by pugs without consistent communication or time investment to progress, then maybe I could see dropping the lockout.
But I have no trust in Blizzard not to cave to the demands of a playerbase who currently is not the audience for mythic raiding, to the detriment of the current audience of mythic raiding.
Ya’ll forget that with flex rosters guilds just found the absolute minimum they could clear content with to weaken/avoid/remove mechanics as a whole from the fight.
Like did you forget the 9, 14, 19, and 24 man breakpoints when flex raiding existed? It was miserable as a CE guild. Benching out a top performer because the game does three aoes instead of two aoes if we have one extra person? Terrible design.
Genuinely trying to understand why players not good enough to clear AOTC without getting carried are so desperate for mythic raiding to be puggable.
Although since it’s this guy, it’s just another troll thread
def. It seems a lot of the community thinks that if flex raiding came out everyone would be able to pug Midnight Falls CE lol
Nah, that fight is rough even with a guild. Still would be nice to get 8/9 mythic. Currently 4/9 so I’m not doing too bad at least.
i am in a guild that progs mythic. things happen and it would be nice to still try and prog even if we have multiple people out.
A lot of this sentiment emerges not out of a desire to actually have the changes they are asking for manifest, but rather as a fantasy they can escape to. In other words, players can use the current lockout system as the reason they aren’t able to progress further into the raid than they are currently and if only it were removed they, and their merry band of misfits would be able to prove once and for all that there is little difference between them, and top players.
If the current system actually got removed they would have to face the very uncomfortable fact that they just are not good enough at the game, and they do not have the drive to make the improvements necessary to actually succeed.
The fantasy serves them better.
I can see potentially making it so you only save to a lockout ID when you kill a boss within that ID. But not a full removal of the lockout system.
Stops people who get kicked from sitting in your raid lockout and refusing to leave, improves quality of life for literally everyone, easier to put together pug groups without sacrificing any mechanical or tuning difficulty.
