Remove multi-gathering resources

With the new auction house we don’t need this anymore, retail has unlimited resources with layerying + phasing + warmode on + warmode off + new auction house + multi gathering

just make mining / herb nodes like classic where resources are LIMITED and the time you spent in the game farming is valuable, 1g per node in retail when the token is 320k just feels bad…

plus : you will always find a train of multiple people exploiting the resources playing with 2 accounts at the same time, this can’t keep happening after the merge of the auction house.

They really can’t do that since they switched to nodes being present in multiple shards. If they made it single gather, we’d never get anything. Nodes would likely despawn as fast as you see them.

BTW, I never see “trains of multiple people” at a node. At most I have seen 3 at a time. Usually it is just me.

On whatever shard Dalaran is part of, there are constant bots in Zaralek with herbalism/mining going between nodes. It’s actually hilarious to watch their extremely non-human movements as they try to land on nodes, and most of them are doing it in the exact same way but just spaced a few seconds apart.

They use the passenger feature of the dragonriding mounts. So you see one person, it’s actually 2. Then they multibox a couple of those and mine out entire the node themselves (Since they are designed to have X “taps” before they despawn, the cheating multiboxer strategy is to not let other players get a single tap). You can watch this happen by opening the combat log, when you see 5+ characters tap the same node simultaneously and then fly away together in the same direction, neatly stacked in a way nearly impossible for normal dragonriders, you have probably found one of these cheaters. They are most common in Zaralek (glowspores only product worth anything now).

Blizzard totally gave up policing multiboxing though, it seems. They’re also much harder to catch and report with how fast dragonriding is, and the fact that 1/2 of them are the “passenger whelp” (the passenger system was meant for accessibility for people with disabilities… not this).

I don’t think I agree with OP’s solution, but I do agree something needs to be done. The first thing I’d do is not allow flying passengers to gather/interact with things without exiting, and add a cooldown to re-entering(even 5-10sec would be enough to discourge this behaviour).

The next thing I’d do is enforce the multiboxing policy again, or provide more funding to improve detection, because whatever is being done right now is not working.
