If horde wants the enlistment bonus and faster Qs they can transfer to alliance.
Alliance is underpopulated in the competitive scene and yet instead of incentivizing guilds and players to transfer from horde to alliance you keep giving them reason to say?
They can have best of both worlds?
Just open up free guild transfer and faction change from horde to alliance and a free realm defrost when done so.
Do that for a week and it will populate the alliance again.
Alliance population of high end players is really low and keeps on falling cuz theirs simply more people to play with on horde.
We are talking rated BGs high M+ and mythic raiding.
Not the RP community which makes up a big pecentage of the alliance.
With free transfer it would put a lot of people over the edge to switch to horde. Yikes would consider it for the easier hall of fame alone.
Price is a big factor. A lot of players have 2-5 alts and friends who would transfer with
I highly doubt the chance at faster random BG queues will get anyone to transfer…
With that said, merc mode is one of my least favorite things in the game. Rewarding the side that has a higher population with shorter queues? No thank you.
When finding groups for things like M+ and raid is probably easier on the side with more people? I dont see it happening at any level that could really be seen. Random BGs have random groups so I think the pull from activities like those I mentioned is probably stronger.
Its not just about the cost to transfer. There has to be a carrot to move and that carrot has to make up for a lack of potential recruits.
Theres no point in going Alliance for Hall of Fame if you lose raiders and cant recruit more. Mythic raid is very rigid in the number of people needed.
Mercenary Mode was put in during WoD to cater to the Alliance. Alliance were dominating in PvP and had massive queue times in WoD because just about everybody who did PvP had switched to Alliance. So now that Alliance queue times aren’t long anymore and Horde is benefiting for a change, you want it removed.
I like Merc mode lets me get away from bad players during certain hours (Alliance and Horde). Also faster queues is a plus for both sides. Horde sides just piles up with more people wanting to play while Alliance side is not filling up at all. So without merc mode both parties have to wait longer.
And in all honesty for PvP I wish there was a “free for all” sort of PvP option where both sides gets grouped up together no Horde vs Alliance more a red vs blue. I mean its a capture the flag after all so any immersion is already broken there.
You know, people keep saying that, and can’t seem to comprehend that the shards could be 100% even, and still feel the exact same as now, (if not already at that point)
Where the devs can’t control what your faction is doing in that shard, got a raid of 30 roid raged orcs rampaging through the zone, meanwhile the 30 alliance they are sharded with are scattered doing whatever they feel like in the zone.
The players are there, just not doing what YOU want them to do.
