Just rework Black Lotus entirely. Make them a rare drop when harvesting herbs in max level zones and require an herb quest/item in your inventory the same way Bloodvine works.

Purple Lotus/Sungrass - 0.5%
Golden Sansam - 1%
Dreamfoil/Mountain Silversage - 3%
Plaguebloom/Icecap - 5%
Black Lotus - 100%

honestly, resource nodes should probably be nixed from it entirely. the burning steppes farmers have graduated to sitting inside of crystals in silithus spamming eagle eye.

i second this

I can see why retail became what it is…

I agree. The change was not enough. Still cant get lotus to get a flask made. The BC system is where its at.

Lmao you guys aren’t trying he’s enough then…go out into the world and wait patiently for 25-30 minutes at a node. If you aren’t standing still you are doing it wrong.

If you think that’s too boring or it should be more active grinding…then take your butt to a diff gold farm, make 100-200g, fly to a major city, open the AH and spend that money on a black lotus.

TLDR stop complaining in multiple thread posts that you don’t want to put in time and effort to compete for a rare and in many cases unnecessary resource

This should never be the basis for any change to the game. Picking lotus is not a nefarious deed, no matter who is doing the picking. If you think it is an unfair advantage for a 100% legitimate player to use eagle eye to find lotus spawns, then make that your argument.

Stop letting the bad guys dictate how the game is designed.

Eagle eye is so boring, okay so eagle eye for 30 mins find the lotus and lose it cause it spawned right in-front of one of the guys running laps.

Blizzard isn’t here to help you or me win (battlegrounds, gathering, world pvp). Blizzard won’t change the game to help you (or me), or outlaw any strategy that beats you (or me).

If some players are actually cheating, then report that. Blizzard can’t catch all the cheaters, but they’re willing to try. They want to know.

But doing what any hunter can do isn’t cheating.

Doing what you could do (but it’s way too boring) isn’t cheating.

Winning against you repeatedly isn’t cheating.

Guilds make groups all the time. That’s what guilds do. Those groups have an advantage over ungrouped players – in gathering, BGs, PvP, everywhere. That is “part of the game”.

People want a classic experience that is completely untouched/unchanged. (The #nochange group of players.) However, people are not playing this game like it was played back in 2004. Having the #nochange mindset will ultimately be the downfall to this version of the game. I’m all for balancing the game. Heck, I would not be opposed if Blizzard put the barbershop in classic.

Hell if I had my way, put the tbc talent system into classic and buff content accordingly, that way it’s not 20 warriors carrying the raid. You could have a good mix of classes and specs
