Today layering was added and Era hasn’t appeared to be this dead since it actually was. Part of what makes an MMO special is being able to interact with the same community each time you log in. Layering gets rid of that and replaces it with soulless instances where meeting other people that are online is left upto chance. It makes the world feel less alive. There are well known people on era that provide services to people and you’ve just taken half their business away. We have maintained a consistent population for months and this change only achieves one thing. Making the game look dead. This was a mistake and it needs to be fixed quickly.

I’m not a fan of layers, but my guess is that layering never truly went away. The threshhold for it triggering in Era may have never been reached until recently.
Similar yet different, the unlimited free realm transfers should be discontinued. There will be no more clone activations so the only purpose these character moves now serve is to mule the uncontested resources off the smaller realms.

Probably wouldn’t have layered if Blizz did something about the thousands of bots–especially the ones used to boost the PVP pool before reset.

With the new change those bots won’t exist. Maybe sand sellers will but pool boosting will be gone

Please remove the layers! They just made classic era appear far less populated. These are not needed.

Layers have existed since I came back 3 weeks ago. Everytime I need an enchant and get invited I go to a whole new land of Orgrimmar
If Blizz took the Wrath Classic approach, in retiring some servers (instead of CRZing), Layering would be less of an issue.
HOWEVER, Bloodsail Buccaneers is a unique situation, as it’s NOT CRZ’d but CAN hit Layering numbers, due to the popularity of HC. Haven’t had Layering, in awhile, though, as the HC community numbers keep dwindling away.
Ooh this is why Stormwind has felt so dead the last couple of days.
