At its core, the mechanic is mob casts something,.player targets it (through direct targeting or mouse overs). Use interrupt ability.
Simple on its own.
I feel the issue is generally around having the mindset to switch to a mob casting when there are multiple pulled. DPS will often get tunneled on their rotation and the mob they actively have targeted. And not pick out the one that needs to be interrupted.
Could something be done to highlight a npc casting so it draws the attention of the player more? I don’t know. We have addons, plater bars, etc that emphasize a cast. But as far as what should be implemented into the default UI?
Mechanically, we have NPCs casting spells that slowly hurt more and more and many classes getting a bonus to a successful interrupt. That should be the incentive to learn to be better.
We could have more casts that instead of giving damage, effect the players in other ways if an interrupt is missed.
Nah, using crowd control is a staple of gameplay. CC and interrupts have always been a high fantasy theme to battle your enemies. The game would be so tame and pointless if people just mashed a 3 button rotation while getting hit by something they can’t stop. What’s next, WoW becomes turn based? I say that because I use my surroundings to avoid casts, like in the Dawn Breaker the lieutenants put a really strong DoT on random players, so I watch the cast frame and LoS to avoid it, making the mobs recast it over and over without ever getting to land the hit. We should just move all skill and gameplay from the game actually. Let’s turn WoW into an online store to buy and look at pets sort of like a card game.
You see the the tank interrupted and someone else takes the next kick. That’s the coordination that’s supposed to happen.
3 players trying to kick at once because the healer is pitching a fit only to have everyone on cooldown afterwards, then someone get booted in a rage is not how it’s supposed to be.
That in no ways is learning to coordinate.
Sure you can just blame whoever is in charge, but they rarely accept blame and are usually not the ones being punished.
I think it’s more a matter of trash packs having 7+ unique spells, 3 of which can’t be kicked, 2 are filler spells and 2 are must kick mechanics. Trying to coordinate around it all is messy for pugs. Stops just reset the casts and trying not to clip kicks leads to free casting filler spells.
Blizz’s base UI lacks the resources to coordinate it all and expecting people to lean on third party addons is a unique problem on its own.
That said, next season changes promise (yes we’ve heard it before) to reduce the mechanical clutter and open up more availabilities for CC.
I’m looking over your post history and it’s clear you hate pvp because all you do is complain about it. Go do something else in the game. Maybe delves?
