Remove Hunter Pet Shrinking

I’m tired of pretending this isn’t a buzzkill.

If I turn a huge grizzly into a pet, it’s because I want a huge grizzly. Seeing it instantly shrink down to the size of a corgi is the most underwhelming thing ever.

You let druids run around as normal sized animals, and you let players ride obnoxiously large mounts, so this evidently isn’t about visual pollution.

Please remove this nonsensical feature that I’m certain absolutely no one asked for.

How about we add an option for different sizes instead?

But they won’t give you giant sized pets, because they’ll be in the way during raid encounters.

hey, i was in the pool. shrinkage.
i mean, umm. yeah. that’s what the op wants to change. do you agree with her? you don’t think it would be ridiculous having 30 foot tall pets with huge hitboxes in groups and everywhere?

no. make them visible to the hunter with a glyph and make them moderate size for everyone else. literally a non-issue.

Okay maybe there are exceptions lol.

Perhaps the size of a large mount should be the cutoff point.

stand up for what you want, and you want large pets

i feel bad opposing you
does that mean you’re right or just that we’re both insane

it means you’re gaining awareness of the “no harm done” doctrine

literally nobody loses and everything is completely opt-in and scribes even get to make some gold

literally a universal positive

If they can’t see how big it is how will others be impressed?

i’m not going to quote that so i’m just gonna say uh.. instead..

they’re not impressed by taming a beast, even double loque

you just rp realm hop to find the rare ones, i have like 4 loques in my stable just because i can

This.

I went through the effort of getting into the worgen starting zone, just so I could tame a mastiff. Decided to do solitary companion to have this manic jowled dog at my side, just to RP a little.

It is the size of a small horse. Completely ruined it.

Well, there’s already a Glyph for the Frost Mage’s Water Elemental, and I think they made it so Shaman Elementals don’t look as big to others as they do to the Shaman, so they could do something like that for both Warlock and Hunter pets.

You mean the one that’s been in the game since Vanilla?

Yes. (ten character limit)

So, my Tauren hunter gets stuck on pixels in some dungeons (to the point that she keeps items that alter her size in her bags). I’m just picturing the pathing of giant pets in dungeons and how many more mobs they’ll pull.

Maybe pets can be full-sized in outdoor content, but shrink up for instances.

Most standard pet sizes wouldn’t have this issue. Like I said earlier in the thread, there should be exceptions, but most of the shrinking isn’t necessary.
