Remove gold

make all vendor items free. player economy can be all bartering - for a bot free world

Literally the exact same thing…

Why is botting the only topic these days? Are there really no problems at all with the game? Everyone is so happy with everything that this is the only topic to complain about?

they’ll just horde high value items and sell those for cash :expressionless:
100 black lotuses for $50 etc.

I think it’s cute you believe that.

Seems like a troll post. Obviously as long as trade between players is permitted the potential for RMT exists. If you truly wanted to alter the game to make it more difficult you’d have to remove trading altogether. But then you’d still have the potential for paid raid runs and account selling.

At the end of the day if you have to make compromises to how the game itself works you’ve already lost. There needs to be another way.

99% of black lotus is botted so i don’t think it would be viable as a replacement currency

99% of statistics are completely made up.

My guild is having no issues getting black lotus, 2-4 an hour, you sure its not a skill issue?

thats like asking to set all of our farmland on fire because it would help with pest control of the crops. Sure it would work, but the damage done to your crop defeats the purpose…

How long until the game is destroyed as draconian solutions like these are suggested to combat one variable? Try thinking these suggestions through going forward please…

It would be kind of cool to see WoW’s economy reimagined as item-based trading instead of a gold currency.

This is basically how Diablo 2 functions. While gold is occasionally traded for items there, it’s an arbitrary amount of playtime for anyone to get gold cap and so gold is really just used for repairs.

I guess in WoW this might look like trading stacks of dreamfoil or plaguebloom for some BoE blues. Although the auction house would have to be completely reworked to essentially be a “buy-order” system instead of auctions. It could be neat if implemented well, but at this point the only new features I’m hoping from blizzard are to stop adding new bugs to the game.

Block gold trades between players.

Eliminating gold would actually make the bot problem worse and would do nothing to hinder the gold trade, or bots, the market would just move off the AH, and it would make it even harder for non bots to compete with the bots which would be much easier to deal with since they are already on 24x7.

what about laundering gold through high-value trade goods? ragged rock for 10,000g.

something else would just get used as gold silk cloth maybe

i mean the result would likely be the playerbase using something else as currency

like sojs in diablo 2 or junk trading in runescape.

Ban everyone with an epic mount already and you’ve just hit a large population of swipers :credit_card:
