Seeking your opinion on this idea. Unsure as to why there’s currently a limit of holding 1 million gold on a character you’d transfer.
Considering there’s already a hard limit on the amount of gold a character can hold and there are items (albeit few) that sell in the millions on the BMAH, I would like to see this limit increased to 5 million or have it uncapped (i.e soft cap of 9,999,999).
Meh, the reason that there is a cap is so people can not abuse the economy on a realm. If there is a rare xmog piece up on the AH on a realm, you can hop over and buy it, either equip or resell on your original realm for more.
Also the BMAH example you listed is exactly why you can’t transfer with millions of gold. People would just go to poor/low-pop realms and buy everything off the BMAH.

A few reasons but to sum it up, to deter abuse of economy. In one way or another.

Ahh I see those seem like fair reasons as to why there’s a limit. I would be grateful if it was raised even to 3 million gold.
Basically I used to market in Dath’Remar and Khaz’Goroth. Since the merges it’s just easier to work off Frostmourne as it’s a big server now (and so as a natural trend, even more people go to it).
Not a big deal I guess, I can make it work.
The real reason they won’t change this is that it hurts them from a financial perspective. The more characters you have to transfer the more cash in their pockets. They don’t care about a realm’s economy. They care about their economy.

Look into Guild transfers. I read that there is no Gold Limit there BUT if that is something you think you might want to do, though more expensive, do more research TO BE SURE if a gold limit exists as I am only writing this from something I read a while back.

The amount of people actively having more than 1 million is minimal at best that actually are wanting to transfer. They just recently raised the limit again. And there were plenty of issues that involved gold farmers, and people abusing the economy hence them implementing a lot of the changes we have now.

I think that’s a good idea. I’ll have a look into it now
