Remove Ghetto Hearth / Remove Petri Meta

HC raiding is a joke right now and will be on official with the Flask of Petrification flask meta. A quick fix on how ghetto hearthing works or just removing it completely will fix this meta.

Petri flask will still be strong in raids for “oh sh*t” moments for healers and DPS but wont save an entire raid like it does now.

I can see Raiding being almost non-existent. But, then again I dont play HC, so carry on. =)

Fixed that for you

HC is dead on arrival regardless of any changes made

No need to remove the “port” on dropping group.
Just have it send you to the nearest graveyard rather than your hearthstone location.
If Blizz wants to send you there as a ghost is entirely at their discretion.

doesn’t matter blizz will kill off hardcore as soon as the players start to dip a little bit

prepare for a 60$ character rez service

How many raids have you been doing in HC?

lol, is this how they’re raiding? by everyone drinking a petri flask when they wipe? because if so, that invalidates it all imo :expressionless:
if official HC servers don’t remove this, they will be a failure.

Most of the videos that I’ve seen it seems like basically anyone doing end game content has at least one petri on them. It just seems odd that these people are trying to enjoy the spirit of hardcore classic which intentionally limits gameplay to make it more fun and exhilarating, but they go and cheese the main mechanic that makes it fun and unique.

It is sadly how they are doing it. Hell even on the unofficial server you have people cheesing death by splitting in dungeons at the earliest hint of something going wrong.

Sadly the playerbase who is devout to the methodology is in even smaller supply than the HC player base at large.

I mean if the mechanic is there I can’t really blame them for using it. But it must be removed, and I declare all their “accomplishments” null and void :expressionless:

It reminds me of that line about players optimizing the fun out of anything. What a shame!

you die in RFC but you complain about a endgame tool, LOL, of course it will fail if they start banning things.

you can still NOT use petri and die only you in the raid, thats “tRuE hArDcOrE” why you always want everyone to play how only you like?

There was a post about this for HC dungeons a week or two ago.

Are flasks of petrification that readily available ? They seem like they would be stupidly expensive to keep it from being a “thing”. This seems more of a theorycraft thing that people are obsessing over.

The ONLY person in-game achievements mean anything to is YOU. Why is what other people do so important to much of the playerbase? WHO cares if someone cheesed their way through a video game challenge?

“let me play how i want” is not a reason to keep exploits in the game, sweetie :expressionless:

The best way to fix this is Petri flask does not allow you to dip out of the dungeon, instead it keeps your location, threat on boss and even if everyone else dies; even if you are no longer in group, soon as it breaks mobs / boss come own you.

This allows Petrification flask to be used exactly as intended; as an imitation ice block.

As for the leave group thing to port out; change this to 10 min wait to remove players from dungeon / raid and it only ports them outside the dungeon or raid they are in, and flags them for PvP.

you don’t need to change petri flask at all, just increase the time it takes to “ghetto hearth” to 5 minutes. also, it should just port you right outside the dungeon, not to your hearthstone location. no more free rides :expressionless:

If they do this I’m going to lead players deep into dungeons and kick them from the group.

What was the logic to ghetto hearth people so quickly? Does it stop people from like dropping group in a dungeon and regrouping to ninja stuff?

yes it would be interesting to know what the reasoning is.
i can’t think of any exploits but they could exist.
