i’m confused. You answered your own thread by saying not to “use/buy/etc” something and that solves the problem.
Why are you using double talk - you can’t get it both ways. You either use flying or you don’t. Take it for what it’s worth.

Right, so walking around mobs invisible is good gameplay, flying over them is bad. Love to hear the logic behind that.
Yea man, blizzard even added those eyeball things to spot you in stealth. That’s cool, that’s fun gameplay.
you ever considered that what you think it’s fun, may not be for others?
No. Because game design is an objective science. People like you just don’t understand it well enough to utilize it. It’s so mysterious to you it might as well be magic.
Why don’t you go beg Blizzard to make a server with free transfers, where you can’t fly, period and you can go there and enjoy the awesome gameplay of not flying? How about that?
Nah man. I’ll just go play a different game, because this one is bad.
time to get some more popcorn…
I get that.
I just wish blizzard would pick a side. Either stop putting time and money into the overworld and focus more on the end game.
Or make the overworld actually fun.
To be fair, they could, and those that choose to fly over it can, and those who choose to ground mount it can do it their way.
This is an opinion. I personally don’t mind it, I think its fine.

“players who wan’t to skip over Stormveil castle can fly straight to Godrick the Grafted.”
This is not how you make a good game.
I’m always willing to share .
gives Cameltowoo
I like Flying in WoW.
It’s got a lot of iteration over the years, some things worked & some didn’t.
It’s really cool cuz even though the zones are all underground, they’re still built with flying in mind. Just zooming into the corway is nice.
And for comparisons sake, flying in final fantasy is embarrassingly terrible. I ride the motorcycle mount from the shop and I actively avoid unlocking flying just because flying motorcycles takes me right out of the game. I just can’t do it lol, flying motorcycles are goofy goober levels of ridiculousness
I mean, there is a reason vanilla private servers have been around forever and it got campaigned hard enough to make them release official Blizz servers.
Ain’t nobody working on a private WoW:Shadowlands server.
Why does everyone complain about flying being a part of the leveling experience but not ground mounts, which is also a convenience?
They also added no fly zones, like the cave systems in the current expansion. But you take issue with only one, your bias is showing there, buddy. Which kind of hints that objectivity isn’t the governing idea behind your line of thought so you bringing up objectivity is not only hypocritical but laughable and self contradicting.
So go play whatever, you dolt. I personally would be glad to see you people sodding off. It’s people like you that got us several expansions of Pathfinder for no reason at all. Now, that we got a cool flying system you wanna kill that too and what’s worse you aren’t even smart enough to properly articulate a lie about why flying should be removed. But we all know why. Cause you are just sad little people and the only thing that gives you some importance is the knowledge that you contributed to annoying lots of people. Good riddance, boss.
I just can’t do it lol, flying motorcycles are goofy goober levels of ridiculousness
It worked in Harry Potter tho lol
Hard disagreee.
I bet they add some kind of animation or sound effect to have some kind of mechanical purpose to show how the mount flies. But in final fantasy it just lifts up in the air, and you’re noclipping through the level in the Z axis.
It feels distinctly worse than TBC flight
you’re right, i killed tf out of leveling, easy as pie.
It’s people like you that got us several expansions of Pathfinder for no reason at all.
Ah yes. Those expansions that sold way better than DF and TWW.
why flying should be removed.
Because the fundamental gameplay loop it creates is BAD.
Get on mount, fly to X,Y coordinates, get off, complete quest, get back on your mount and fly to the next coordinates.
Aint no fortnite kids genna be checking out WoW when it has a garbage gameplay loop like that.

Well, I dont want to degrade this thread into a Harry Potter thread, but Magic would be the thing. Anyway, I never got far enough in to get a flying mount in FF.
I noticed, as i flew overhead, a long path leading from the Hollowfall gate down the hillside leading to the 1st town and wondered to myself:
“Why even have that road, noone is going to walk down it. no one. We all can fly from day one, who is gonna slowly run thier mount down that long road? Who will even see that stuff placed down there?”
I appreciate flight from day one but yeah theres a lot of stuff there that noone is gonna even see because we just fly past it.
We all know we take the path of less resistance, so that won’t change the experience. If we are all on the same playing field, then it would have been great
I’m all about player agency.
If you choose to take the path of least resistance rather then have discipline for something you’d prefer to do that’s on you.
Idk if it’s still a thing but for awhile WoW had an ironmode thing going on. No talents, no gear above white, not trading and if you die you delete the char. People are cappable of setting limitations for themselves. You have no excuse.
While I prefer dragonriding to static I still think it was silly to lock static behind an achievement regardless of how easy it was to get because player agency is important.
The way the world works right now people can choose to use ground mounts only. In your world people couldn’t choose to use flying mounts. Therefor by philosphy of pleasing the most people the current way is the better way.
The solution can be found not in blizzard but in you making the choice to fufilll your own desires and resisting temptation of the “path of less resistance”
there is a reason vanilla private servers
Well, I did qualify the comment in order to acknowledge that, in fact, there is a small group that think this game play is good.
However, pretty much every classic server goes boom then bust. The typical player quickly loses interest in Classic and leaves.
The retail vs classic debate is over.
