In final fantasy there are no ground or air mounts. Every mount you use is a ground mount, until it isnât.
Once you unlock flying then everything flies no matter what.
On a giant magical horse itâs no big deal cuz magic. But when Iâm going for a steam punk vibe with my gunbreaker riding into battle on a motorcycle, I press spacebar to jump but instead of jumping im swimming thru the air without any new animations.

Hereâs a novel ideaâŚhow about a little bit of both? Some areas that you canât fly until after certain quests in that area, others where the landscapes are best seen for the first time flying thru them.
Flying is great, but it can be even more great when you get it for the first time. Remember how awesome skyriding was when we first got it? It was only that awesome because we didnât have it before and suddenly normal flying seemed so slow.
Because world of warcraft is a setting with npcs/people living in it. So not everything in the game exists for the sake of the player.
