Remove flying from Warmode

I think how much more this game feels like a Mmorpg without flying is laughable. It creates a much healthier eco system of population.

I think the pvp community needs to come to agreement that the best thing for wpvp is removing flying from warmode but keep some of it’s incentives.

I would even suggest making warmode receive exclusive world quests for Wpvp. Kill x players in certain areas for x rewards so it shuns raid groups as well.

Just my thoughts but I am deftly against flying in Wpvp point of view and truly do believe it hurts the population appearance in zones.

I understand and also see why flying is nice as well but in terms of pvp it’s a needed change. I’d like to see what other pvpers have to say about this.

I’d label myself as a more hardcore wpvper that use to do wpvp as my end game solo or with friends for fun after being fully geared up in pvp gear.

During BFA pathfinder I didn’t even complete part 2 of it since it was so lame to me and I was perfectly fine since I was able to still use flight paths just fine than once I got to the main destination it was all good and I got to farm resources etc as I looked for horde.

This would kill War Mode because flying is such a convenience.

In my opinion, just make the Net-o-Matic have no range, have the range be indefinite as long as they’re in view distance.

This is sort of a thing right now, you can net people mid-air, but that’s a “bug” technically.

I do kind of agree with OP in principle, ground mounts make world PvP more fun and makes the world in general feel much larger. But as you point out in practice that would just kill war mode. No way in hell most people are going to spend 2-3 times as long doing world quests just for a bit of extra XP or the possibility of fighting another player.

i like the idea but they are right wm would die. perhaps a limit on how high you can go, like withing polymorph range

I personally think that flying has severely hurt WPvP participation across the board. It’s too easy to have a 25 man raid drop in on an otherwise evenly balanced skirmish whether it’s 5v5 or 10v10, etc.

also lets you escape mass camping unless you get net-o-matic. also both sides can fly.

I think instead of increasing the range of the net they should just force players to fly lower. I was talking to a friend about this and he was saying they could add a fatigue system that if you fly above say 80 yards from the ground, you get a fatigue bar that will force you to fly down. Maybe instead of taking damage, your mount would go at half speed when that fatigue bar runs out and if you go below the 80 yard limit you would instantly go back to normal mount speed (unlike the worms from 8.3)
