Remove Faerin From The Story, She Doesn't Have a Place and Feels horribly Forced

Another casualty of the culture war.

Which culture is that? Do artists or writers who happen to be black or disabled and use their own experiences to create a character fall under that “culture” to you?

What’s wrong with drawing from your own experience to make a fictional character, and why does that feel “forced” to you if that experience is the character being black or disabled?

What kind of people are that? Describe them to me.

The problem with any conversation about Faerin is that people opposed to her existence act as though the inclusion of black characters or disabled characters in a video game need to be justified. They can’t just be. We have about 30 years of Warcraft lore where characters were never required to meet a specific pre-requisite to be accepted by the playerbase.

But now, Blizzard needs to provide a 20 page thesis on the inclusion of Faerin in WoW to satiate the ire everyone feels. It’s so obvious what’s happening here.

Welcome to world of warcraft writing… we don’t have that many bright spots, TWW’s writing is not one of those bright spots lol

Because they don’t fit in the story, theme, and kinda suck

Why doesn’t Faerin fit into the story?

you heard it here first, folks: all minority characters in warcraft forevermore are part of an insidious conspiracy to turn it into wokecraft

y’all are just the cutest thing

I enjoy answering bad faith questions, tell me how does she fit?

Yes, and when asked how Blizzard can include different types of characters in a "satisfactory " way, he just said don’t use a tool but now says it feels forced if if it wasn’t used. He’s being disingenuous and bad faith.

I doubt that the person who created Faerin is a one-eyed, one black woman - and even if it was that still doesn’t mean you get carte blanche to insert every one of your Intersectional Points into places where it doesn’t fit. There’s a reason Avowed didn’t resonate with people even if the creator was trans.

You already linked this before and routinely ignored my rebuttal then with a flippant remark about how you don’t care, so I’ll requote it here for expediency if you’d like to actually address it now:

she’s a generic human paladin. there are a ton of them in the franchise. she fits literally fine. some people just have issues with dark skin

I would say ‘fire everyone who worked on this tool, wanted it propagated throughout all of video games, and thought it was a good idea to brag about it lest your choices be reflective of such efforts to rate races for inclusion.’

She seems like a pretty average run of the mill paladin style character. I even remember meeting some soft spoken female paladin NPCs in this game before who had names like “Pureheart” and such. She loves the light and fights for justice, pretty average WoW paladin lol.

No, she isn’t even able to wield her weapons… its why we have lances parrying swords in cutscenes.

Can you let me know how you’d rank Whites and Blacks on a scale of 0-10?

You haven’t given me any info beyond saying shes a paladin… how does a disabled person fit into wow?

lmfao you’re not a serious thinker, kiddo. she is literally no different from a ton of other characters in the setting. she just is black, some people are freaking out over it

There are all kinds of weird weapons that don’t make any damn sense in reality to fight with. Why is it just about the one Faerin uses?
