Hopefully we don’t have to deal with Faerin in Midnight. She feels like a total Mary Sue. Always right, no flaws, op with Light powers, and somehow she’s already the center of the story even though we barely know her.
She talks to people like they’re kids too. Super soft-spoken, like she’s trying to teach a kindergarten class or something, idk man it feels so uncanny to me. Doesn’t help that she refuses to get a prosthetic arm for no reason. Just makes it feel like more of that “look how pure and strong she is” angle Blizzard keeps pushing.
She’s stronger than characters who’ve trained with the Light for centuries, but we’re just supposed to accept it because… reasons? It’s like Blizzard speedran her into being “important” with a bunch of lore videos instead of letting her actually grow into the story.
And yeah, before someone throws the usual “you just hate her because she’s a woman or POC,” no. That’s not it. People dragged Sylvanas for how Blizzard screwed up her arc. This is the same deal. We should be able to criticize bad writing without getting labeled for it.
Edit : if people don’t believe me that she’s bad, go watch any video on Faerin lore. The comments are really not happy with her in general.
Edit 2 : I’m really starting to lose faith in people. You can’t even say anything negative about Faerin’s character without someone jumping in and calling you a racist. Like, come on. I for one absolutely loved Lance Reddick. The guy was incredible. Every role he took on, he brought something special. The guy just owned every scene with his voice and charm. There was no one like him. I was genuinely heartbroken when he passed.
You guys need to come up with better counter arguments next time because it’s becoming redundant and you’re making a bad image of yourselves.

We accepted it for Anduin. We accepted the same concept for Jaina

we never accepted it for Anduin.

Jaina is literally an archmage, she’s way stronger than blizzard shows ingame.

Nah, I’m good and I enjoyed the story
There is a literal discussion in game on why she doesnt want one

Yes. And with next to no training she is super more powerful than others that have been training for centuries!!

she’s just got that dog in her, man
(all my homies hate unexplained power gains)

If you actually checked jaina lore, she wrecks hard the casts. But blizzard somehow ignores it.
And her lore was built since warcraft 3

I think we are misunderstanding each other.
I am saying, yes. Jaina is super powerful.
But she has little training compared to these other mages that have been doing it for 1000 years.

Unfortunately I think Faerin is going to get much more screen time. Most of this stuff is already in production. She is going to force her way into the plot hard. She will be alongside every NPC who has been here for years and either be their equal or better than them. I mean it’s already happening.

She was trained by antonidas tho, not your typical mage

her logic is flawed. she is selfish, hurting the war effort for personal reasons by not being her best self.
this is why we call it bad writing.

I dont care.
She qualifies as “little training compared to others doing it for centuries” statement that makes Faerin bad.

Since we’re on this. Luke Skywalker is a Gary Stu and also fits in the “little training compared to others doing it for centuries”

Xala’tath should’ve killed Khadgar and Jaina should’ve took charge. Would’ve added stakes, had a beloved character in a noble sacrifice, gave Jaina some screen time, and made Xala’tath actually formidable.

I still think she did, I mean she did get Dalaran to never be built again, a huge plus for her and the old gods
she broke him pretty good.
