Remove Engineering Specializations

At this point I see no reason why there should be separate goblin and gnomish engineering specializations anymore since it hasn’t been done for recent expansions.

They should just remove it and allow engineers to learn all schematics.

Also while in the topic the class restrictions for goggles and helms should be removed and the items made BoE so an engineer can learn the schematic and also create and sell the transmog on the AH.

I Agree, Give us a Tinker Class that’s all about Guns, Explosives, Turrets, and Shredders.

That aside. I actually Agree that Engineering specializations don’t really serve much purpose. And I’d love more goggle transmog.

only if all other professions lose their restricted appearances, like blacksmith plate items from bfa, and all BoP crafted items from vanilla onwards (looking at you, spining molten core shield and sunwell robes)

I see no issue with that. Making a piece of transmog shouldn’t be restricted at all for any profession and should all be BoE. That way it can be made and sold on the AH for anyone to buy.

Other playing the class to get the transmog there shouldn’t be a class restriction to make and learn the schematic, pattern or whatever.

Agreed. Every other crafter can make boe gear (along with a small number of bop items) whereas the poor engineer, it seems the only things they can make are bop. Its a stupid limitation.

And yes, the whole goblin/gnome thing should be gone. Well, goblins should be gone and if they are, who needs a goblin specilization I say!

In classic, a leatherworker had to choose a specialization. They removed that way back when so any leatherworker could learn all of those patterns.

that’s fine, my comment was more in response to making goggles not restricted to engineering to mog

nothing should be restricted to any professions to mog if so

I’m I missing something here both goblin and gnomish engineering are the same now, only exceptions are some old recipes which you can change to get them and back with no problem.

You have to drop either the Gnomish or Goblin Specialization to switch to the other and dropping makes you forget Al the schematics it so if you switch back you would need to relearn them and if it’s a schematic from a world drip you’d have to get the drop again.

Was more of referring to just removing the specializations in general and allowing an engineer to learn all schematics.

Most of the other professions also had their specializations removed so you could learn all the patterns except for engineering.

does blacksmith still have weapon and armour specialization or am i imagining it? i swear i had to pick one recently but i can’t remember what expansion i was levelling it in

i’m also fried so it might just be in my head

You miss old, rare and removed recipes when you switch. Not worth it at all.

It should be consolidated.

Problem is, I think in their mind, it is the only profession kind of tied to Faction conflict. I would only see this being removed if they ever cave in on the cross faction play.

As per the wowpedia

“As of WoW Patch 4.0.1 the blacksmithing specializations of Armorsmith and Weaponsmith have been removed from the game.”

Heya Beaupeep.
I don’t know how much of a Difference we’ll make. But rest assured when it happens, I’ll make one hell of a callout post.

I didn’t realize that the schematics were still locked by one type or another. I could’ve sworn they lifted that ages ago. It is very backwards to remove the restrictions for some professions and not others. Free the schematics!

I hope so. Makes me sad to look at my unlearned list and see so many I can’t learn.
