Remove Dishonorable kill from the Game

P3 is comming and this mechanic is still in sod just like in era, make Dishonorable kill just a number without a punishment, getting 1 DHK is the worst thing that can happens in wow clássic and You are never safe if You’re in a raid doing pvp of not getting 1 for mistake.

I want to see cities being raided by our and oposite faction, a call to arms, this is WoW but with DHK ingame it feels like World of don’t touch My cities. In a war Game from 20y ago

What you’re looking for is world of warcrimes. Checking off the Geneva convention like a quest list.

what they should do is put a dishonorable kill in on the people that kill players that are 10 levels below. That would truely be AWESOME!

Naw.

I really enjoy the threads crying about DHKs.

Or make there be harsher punishments for those who “don’t care bro, it’s just a game.” and grief your groups by getting DHKs.

Maybe a mark of shame, or a title “the Dishonorable” for character that makes a DHK, and a warning popup whenever being invited to a party or raid:

WARNING: The player you have invited (Name-Here) is a known civilian murderer. Would you really like to invite them to your group?”

:woman_shrugging:

maybe that warcraft logs addon can add this as a feature

said someone that has no idea what a dishonorable kill is and how they work, i can go to durotar right now and kill every low lvl player to the point of not letting them play without any punishment because its pvp and dishonorable kill doesn’t aplly to low lvl players even at lvl 60

but how you dare to kill a civilian? you will be deranked and lose 2 weeks worth of farming honor.

they should, if they could just change the rate of 1x1, “1 DHK = 1 honorable kill” and not this nonsense we have right now.

If you get a dhk you derank but if you get 5 honor the next week it goes back to what it was

Says someone who wasn’t there when DHKs were added to the game to disincentive killing low level players and associated important NPCs as a means to keep them from levelling up.

Again, I restate: You want to gank and grief low level characters without repercussion.

Lol, no.

What is the point of killing a low lvl npc when i can grief real players without punishment?

Because the first thing a low level character do when confronted by a higher level character, is run to somewhere safe - typically the local quest hub where there are guards present, many of which as high, or higher than, than players are.

So you can kill that player, but then you’ll likely die unless you either:

A) Retreat before aggroing the guards
B) AoE them all down.

DHKs discourage you from option B, because civilian NPCs are also present. It also prevents you from killing lone quest givers that low level PCs may want to interact with, preventing them from completing quests.

I could see this backfiring

RPers and self deprecating wowheads will want “the dishonorable” title.

Maybe more toons will die

Do we both agree that world PvP is among the best player interactions in the game? Looking at the original 2004 cinematic, it seems to heavily promote that aspect of the game, especially towards the end.

You have to realize that, because this is Vanilla Classic SoD, even at level 60, it’s gonna take some effort to kill the guards in a city without being overwhelmed. Furthermore, is it not entertaining to rally your faction and fellow guildmates to dispatch of the griefer? Or what about if the griefer brings his own group so then a giant world PvP war can happen? Is that not what the World of WARcraft directly promotes? It’s Horde vs. Alliance PvP in the most brutal yet natural way possible.

O I absolutely agree. Honestly they could turn world pvp city sieges into some hella fun events if we didn’t have to worry about DHKs

I’m just here to stack DHKs.

That sounds like hell if you’re not 60.

We can one shot lvl 40 players, a low lvl Will die with 1 auto attack, no time for running.

You can’t aoe guards, not here, not in retail.

Increase quest givers respawn timer is an option.

Layers exist and You’re acting like someone that doesn’t know that after lvl 15 the dungeon Grind is the option number 1 for leveling, questing is not the only way for leveling.

This is the point of this, Right now we can kill low lvl players all the day but we can’t Siege a Town because “ma quest givers don’t touch them”.

Dhk feels like grieffing, but a grieffing from blizzard to the players with the penalty involved specially when You’re not the guy that killed the civilian. As i said change the rate to 1x1 (1 DHK = 1HK) would not hurt us.

Low level means more than just level 1. There are 38 levels between them, and I’d classify 29 of them as “low level” at this phase.

If you can’t use AoEs, then you can’t attack them at all, meaning your only solution is to flee.

Doesn’t address the issue of camping.

And if you’re in a layer beset by a siege you can do nothing about, you might as well log off and go play another game until the opposite faction decides to give up. Not everyone knows how to swap layers, and are unlikely to consider that as a solution. All they are going to see is, “I can’t get out” and give up.

Ragefire Chasm is not available to the Alliance, like Stockades is not available to the Horde. Dungeon grinding is not a viable solution for Alliance players until late-20s. And with the increased XP buff currently, questing is by far the fastest way to sub 25 anyways.
