I was leveling my prot warrior last night and went from 70 to 75 just spamming dungeons back to back.
I know for a fact I am not a top tier player, bit off more than I could chew a few times and died even once, and nobody ever kicked me once.
is getting kicked really that common of a thing? If so, how did I manage to avoid it when I know I am not even good and barely mid
Edit: I don’t speak ever in chat. Maybe that’s why lmao

nope. Imagine how easy it would be to get a group to kick you.
See my issue is, “No good reason” is the same as “No reason” so my brain just won’t accept it as one. But yeah, i get your point. While it IS a reason, it is not one a normal person would agree with.
Omg i love that, have had that a few times. Instant Karma, followed by rage “Why did you kick me” And everyone says " I didn’t start the vote "
How does the UI look for kicking in wow? In ff14, you have to pick a reason, such as afk, offline, harassment, cheating
Maybe that one extra step would mitigate some of the senseless kicks here

Oh that’s just what we need. To actually incentivize VtK just for trolling people.
I’m with the guy above that said get rid of random queues altogether.
It might cause some whining but it would solve oh so much more.
Iirc its just fill in a reason. You can literally just put a letter.

It happens rarely. Most groups don’t care to kick people because dungeons can be done quickly enough (at least most of the time). Normally when someone gets kicked it’s because someone in the group felt that person wasn’t performing. Normally happens after a wipe. Of course it can happen for other reasons to. Get mouthy with the group and start trash talking and that’s a sure fire way to get kicked from a dungeon even if your performance is good.
Unfortunately one other way that someone can get kicked from a group is if the majority of the group is made up of friends and they decide they don’t want to share loot with you from the final boss. They’ll kick you before the fight starts, then kill the boss with a 4 man party to secure loot for themselves.

i totally agree with this, especially when someone just doesnt like you and they are in a group of friends they coordinate to kick you and now you have deserter. its the ultimate form of bullying and Blizzard condones it

Been playing since vanilla and can’t really articulate how often I’ve been kicked or kicked someone.
Closest thing is doing keys and people leaving after a wipe or right after the key starts to troll
Again, Blizzard can’t remove the dungeon deserter debuff for getting kicked.
If they did they would reopen a nasty can of worms that they bolted shut during Wrath of the Lich King. And that can of worms needs to stay shut.
It’s a “lesser of two evils” situation.
This is the abuse they choose to endorse so they aren’t seen as endorsing different forms of abuse by adjusting VtK.
People see it purely as “preventing abuse” but it’s simply “reallocating the abuse.”

well im sure a multi million dollar company can come up with an alternative that we just havent thought of yet. Either way cyber bullying is unacceptable

It’s probably a numbers game, less overall impact this way compared to others

The current way it’s implemented was the fix.
I wonder if timing matters. I tend to play late night weekdays PDT and it’s usually just autopilot for everyone
It’s a bandaid.
But I agree that this was the form of abuse they chose over others.

Maybe if the kick comes after a certain amount of time or the dungeon’s second boss onwards, it shouldn’t debuff?
They’re changing it again moving forward so now even if you leave after the first boss (or any boss) the debuff applies. Getting kicked always applied it (at least after they initially changed it to apply to dungeon kicks in the first place) and unless we all want to stroll down memory lane, it needs to stay that way.
I don’t understand they give a reason to report a player AND you can fill in for that reason… but for kicking someone there isn’t one? that’s kinda lazy on blizz part… xD
There is one.
When I go to vote kick someone, I am asked to fill in a reason why I am wanting to kick that person, and whatever reason I type is what appears to the rest of the party when you get the option to vote.
But I can put anything I want in that box, from the actual reason to faceroll gibberish or nothing.
