Remove crafting buff as forced transmog, enable it when in range of profession alters or nodes

As the title says. I was completely unaware that this was an actual thing. It wasn’t till last minute that this stupid buff is the primary reason that my offhand was not showing. There was no mention of it in wow-head, wow forums and even Google searches turned up nothing. Thanks to @LetMePost he nailed it on the head, and because he experienced the issue prior.

I uninstalled the game, battle.net, deleted all of my addons including re-installing my graphics driver, all for a buff that just had to be right+clicked removed.

The buff shouldn’t be in the game, sad that I can’t just make a piece of equipment in blacksmithing or mine something without having this item forced on me. You know what? Heres a suggestion… only show it within range of profession alters or when close to resource nodes, but don’t force it until its removed; or make it a transmog from the transmogrifier.

With other people in my guild also experience the same issue took them forever to identify the problem. Most of these people didn’t go nearly as far as I did and I hope I never have to go through that again, because some dev thought it was a good idea to impose this on players without providing any incite that it existed.

Sadly, I was about to just give and not play, and despite its simplicity and minor visual quality it had, it was still a quality of life that made me seem I couldn’t fix it. Cause then I wonder what else is broken. I tried changing region settings to see if it was sync issues, blacksmithed a shield to see if it would show up, but then only showed a hammer in place of the shield. I honestly even thought due to the server restarts it was sync related, given that none of my other classes were having issue.

Nonetheless, the problem has been resolved, but only after the damages have already been done, nobody likes reinstalling the game twice, or proprietary drivers including graphics drivers that were never really the cause.

Actually the way to not have that forced upon you is to not equip any profession equipment.

There is an NPC you can speak with to hide your profession equipment when you’re crafting.

Near the tailoring bench there is a tauren lady you can talk to to have it only show when gathering or crafting. You’re welcome

Yea I talked to that NPC weeks ago. I still get the equipment xmog when I’m crafting.

I’d rather have an option to turn it off completely. The items give me the crafting stats the xmog is purely visual, aka pointless.

The npc is supposed to turn it off completely that’s why I say that.

They don’t… Half the time the transmog doesn’t “fall off” after crafting either. Seems to be heavily bugged.

I don’t have this issue idk I went to the NPC and told it to hide everything. There’s two diff options one for weapons and one for armor.

Should talking to the tauren and asking to not see profession equipment not work for you, you can get the Leatrix Plus addon and set it to not allow Transforms. This will disable the buff that’s applied when you gather or craft something immediately, and if you see the gear at all, it will only be for a split second before it disappears.

A lot of people here mentioning the NPC but no one here mentioning where she is. I am in Valdrakken and don’t see this NPC anywhere.

Sometimes for some reason the options get reset and turned back on. So you got to go back to them and turn it off again.
