If they fixed the lag when I cap out that is where you would find me the LAG is all that is wrong this BG.

Yeah pretty much the only “downside” I can think of is the lag that occurs during the very first clash in mid.
Once one side wipes the other team in mid, the lag mostly goes away. Outside of the very first teamfight, the bg is mostly smooth.
I just played my first one of the day with no lag. I think it’s got something to do with the server that they hop you on.

Against my better judgment I queued for SS vs TM for the reward. It’s a boring lag fest and I had to afk out.
Thankfully it goes away tomorrow.
