Remove Brawl: Deep Six, why is this even a thing?

Every week Deep Six comes up in the brawl rotation I cringe.

I always try and at least complete the weekly quest for each brawl on a couple of toons, the conquest normally makes it worth it.

However this 6 vs 6 brawl is a nightmare. I don’t know what about this brawl is different than the other ones with lower team numbers.

Every week I try to complete this quest on multiple toons I end up getting multiple matches where the enemy team starts losing and so they just leave and the match ends without any winner. This is honestly ridiculous and a complete waste of time. Blizzard either fix this or remove it, it’s utter garbage.

it having seething shore on its list definitely doesnt help

game ending if a player doesnt join is also annoying

but overall still way better than packed house imo

I’ve never had a game just end from packed house, without a winner.

My entire issue with this brawl is the fact that so many matches just end because of people leaving

yeah but when the game doesnt end it is a fun brawl at least- minus temple and seething that suck as bgs. i’d queue it more if i wasn’t getting those two 50% of the time

now packed house on the other hand is miserable no matter the outcome. every addon broken, all 15 people in a tiny arena managing to line heroically, way too many aoe spell effects in a tiny area

i didn’t mind it on my rogue but i avoid packed house on my healers at all cost

Blizz fixed it by back-filling the brawl - it doesn’t change anything as the losers keep getting smashed - but it does make new people not want to queue it either which is… helpful?

Deep Six is one of my favorite brawls. Kind of what an RBG 6v6 would be like but obviously with a lot of other things need to be added/adjusted etc. But I like different game modes.

Can’t believe this company can’t even fill 6 slots in a brawl, just got out of one where our team only had 3 players for 75% of the match. I know PvP is dying but jesus, horde has enlistment bonus for over half the day now on regular bgs and brawls.

There are other? Those are the only two I ever got.

Alliance are just dominating in PvP lately. Either I’m super unlucky or they’re just better organized. A lot of 400+ honor levels.

And almost all of the brawls end in my team not having enough players. Not only that I’m seeing a lot more bonus icons to support my faction in BGs…never really seen that before except on my Alliance alts.

The only problem with Deep Six is it uses the same minimum players number as regular BGs - 6. If they change that to 5 for the brawl (so a team needs to be short two people before the five minute match end timer will start), 90% of the issues will be fixed.

Of course, it’s been like this for 6+ years, so I’m not optimistic it will get changed for at least 6 more.

this is the peak of wow pvp right here… not enough players to even fill a lobby, afks until theres 1-2 people left, always get seething shore ( double trash mode ), another melee fest every round, so on and so on.

i honestly cannot believe they can look at this with their internal data, just on afks itself, and with a straight face say “yeah, this is good”, the audacity of these garbage disposals is reaching unthinkable heights.

Another fantastic ‘nobody wins’ BG, where we had 1300 points in Mines, with both carts on the way to victory, but 2 of the opposing team had left early and only one backfilled before the time expired.

Please for all that is holy, shadow and/or void, change the settings for Deep Six such that the timer only starts if a team is missing at least two players.

Its really bad. And yet whenever the RBG topic comes up people always suggest 6v6 as a brilliant idea. I dont get it.

Smaller numbers makes PVP a strong-link sport and one or two toons can dominate.

6v6 Rated BGs wouldn’t work in the same way, if you did any decent amount of Rated BGs you’d already know this haha.

In Rated BGs, if the other team leaves, your team just wins. You get full rating and full conquest. And the leavers get a rating loss, as it should be.

But you see, Lancin. You completely whooshed the point. 6v6 has a design flaw. Its not about rating. The maps weren’t made with 6v6 in mind. And theres going to be major problems - as youre complaining about here - that rating wont fix.

Bump back to the top. Trying to get a win in Deep Six is incredibly frustrating because of the Not Enough Players timer. They really need to change the minimum player threshold, or remove this brawl. Battleground Blitz is a much better implementation.

Should be handled like arena 3s. No backfilling, deserters get 15min debuffs, game doesn’t end because someone leaves. Winners and losers get what they earned at the end(if they stayed until the match was won/lost

Why would you want to remove a game mode? The simple solution would be to not queue up for Deep Six if you do not enjoy it, no one is forcing you to click the button.

Personally, I very much enjoy the 6 vs. 6 brawl. It puts a lot of pressure on each individual player to make a meaningful contribution. You need to pull your weight, be good at 1v1’s and really be aware of where the enemy team is. In regular BG’s it’s a lot easier to just do whatever you want and let your other teammates win or lose the game, AKA getting carried.
