Body-ressing is running to your corpse as a ghost and ressing like you would in open world content. In a BG, ressing like this is frequently way better than waiting at the spirit healer. It lets players quickly rejoin teamfights or move to objectives after dying.
It can be countered by looting the dead player’s body, which disables their ability to body-res, but this is usually a non-trivial action. It can be difficult to even locate the body during chaotic fights, and it requires an accurate click in melee-range to start the “remove insignia” cast. It’s a 1 second cast that is interruptible by CC, requiring another click to start the cast again.
It has the same timer rules in BGs as open world. You can always immediately res after the first death if you reach your body, but dying too often will incur an increasing timer which prevents body-ressing. This timer is obscure beyond the first death, and players end up looting bodies when it’s unnecessary or ignoring bodies when body-res is available.
This mechanic is both overpowered and unfun to play around. Players who die in BGs should always need to res at the spirit healer.
What would this solve exactly?
what if your GY is at a bad spot?
what if it’s just a game to enjoy?
and removing something so miniscule (and not so powerful cause the Remove Insignia function is the counter?)
all it really is about is, To spread awareness to your fellow players, to let them know that “Hey this play can resurrect at or near their death point and be able to back cap this base if no one is paying attention?”
More so the fact of tell/inform them to be observant as to what right clicking a player’s body can do. cause that by every means denies a method to respawning. and not everyone likes to wait 30s and just want to be back into the action so… what point would there be in waiting for that res timer if you could be back instantly?
I mean if you are a geared player and want to zerg players or even as a healer better yet to keep sustaining your team, maybe even toss a BREZ to an aforementioned geared player to turn the tide in your favor.
you essentially slow if not make battles even more one sided. by removing it.
Basically there should be no mechanic like “remove insignia” to fully-secure a kill. It is difficult enough to land a kill vs strong healers. In the lava cart fight at Silvershard mines, if you kill a player without looting their body, they will res in under 5 seconds, at near full HP, exactly where they died. Its almost like killing them gives them an invulnerability buff. And if you try to loot the body, its like CCing yourself and not guaranteed to succeed.
Healers don’t body rez with full mana though, so a low mana healer body rezzing is dead meat upon rez. Really annoying to rez oom
Being able to body rez to delay a base cap or rezzing behind enemy lines to change cart directions is just an extra depth that opens a lot of avenues if the enemy team fails to recognize it
It just adds more to outplay potential to change games imo and can really help a team that’s struggling in teamfights to come back into a more competitive position. I’d hate to see the body rez removed and condemn lower teamfight teams to their gy fate or whatever, i’m failing at expressing what i mean but i really disagree with removing the body rez option
That Is 100% you need to CC the healers, force positioning or straight up force them to go OOM.
it takes Not even 2s to just look for a person who goes down on the opposite team and take the insignia, you don’t have to wait for the full death animation to do it… lol…
and like someone else said healers don’t spawn with full mana, they can go oom real quick. better off eating some food if they have it from a Mage, or Brezing someone. within a fight.
It does have outplay potential, but to me it just feels chaotic and cheesy when it succeeds. I dislike the obscurity of the timer for when its available for both yourself and other players. I want kills in BGs to always have the same effect whether or not bodies get looted. With the current mechanic, you need to kill someone 3 times to be sure they will actually stay dead.
I would like to give up this outplay potential for cleaner gameplay that is more reliant on ordinary combat. It’s a personal preference, but I think many people would like this change.
Its not always that simple. There is a cast time, so other enemies can “spin” your attempt to loot bodies. And ranged players may need to compromise their positioning to loot bodies in a big teamfight, which can end with them getting themselves killed and ironically be the cause of losing the fight.
do you only play arena ? is this why? like its not rocket science oh no you have to be active and click something . How dare it not be like arena where they just flop over and its done . TBH that would be so much more boring . Keep that junk in arena plz .
I play some solo shuffle, but mostly epic bgs and bgs. This isn’t really a problem in epic bgs, but I’ve been playing the BG blitz brawl and noticing many situations where it feels completely overpowered to get a body rez. The worst example is EOTS. The base graveyards are practically on top of the node flag, and it gives defenders an unreasonable advantage.
I still think BGs are fun and im not gonna quit over this, but I think it should be improved somehow.
