I was led to believe that these would be permanent additions for our “class fantasy”. They are memes. Either give us the Ghouls or remove them. What a joke. I don’t care how salty this post is, but it’s an insult to give us a Ghoul, that doesn’t have ANY pet controls nor abilities to choose from. What has become of this lazy design? I can’t fathom why, to appease a class base, that you would put a pet just to satisfy a “bullet point” “checklist” of fantasy class identity. It is really really really lazy. Remove it or change it. They way it looks is absolute garbage. I can’t post from my Death Knight because the character is bugged, it’s Darkwraith-Illidan.

They just added him back.
It’s 2 more buttons to press if you want to min max which I will never say no to.
If you don’t like it don’t use it.
It doesn’t do very much damage.
If you don’t like the look of him use one of the glyphs. I prefer the ghoul one.
If you want to have pet control, play a pet class like unholy.

I 100% disagree. Having a ghoul has always been apart of the DK fantasy and shouldn’t have been removed. It’s fire-and-forget, off the GCD, and you can sacrifice it in the last few seconds for a heal + extra damage. If you don’t like the visual, there’s some glyphs you can use to change the appearance.
That has always been an Unholy-specific fantasy.
I don’t see the problem here.

it literally serves no purpose other than to say “look we did something for your class”. Except they didn’t.
The Ghoul is what? 6 DPS over 2minutes? Lol
For the time being its pointless nostalgia fishing.
Maybe they could expand upon Frost/Bloods ghoul with item affixes tho.
Some Legendary affix that makes ur Ghoul a Frost Skeleton CD or a Blood golem CD. IDK, theres potential, but I doubt they’ll mess with it.

In pve you just macro it to ERW.
Dont forget, we will be able to sacrifice it soon.
You can also use it strategically against Rogues to keep them in combat and make it harder to re-stealth when they sap you.
It’s not meant to be a big part of our playstyle or damage, just a little extra help that can be useful in the right circumstance. Permanent control has always been an Unholy theme, if that’s what you enjoy you might be better off playing as one.
In case you haven’t realized, that’s the entire point of the Shadowlands expansion - nostalgia.
80~ DPS, without the RP execute. Currently more than Razorice and a little less than Frozen Pulse for DW over a 4minute fight.
Same with DnD, Lichborne, Might of the Frozen Waste, and Death Coil for Frost. They’re all pointless to add because none of them boost the current iteration of Frost’s DPS at all. All these abilities do is add flavor and more choice for the player.
I don’t care for pets at all but the ghoul at least adds some marginal DPS and has the option to be an emergency heal, especially since the summon is off the GCD.
I just want a damn ghoul. I mean, maybe I exaggerated a little, but I just felt cheated. I don’t really (in all honest truth) care, because it’s entirety doesn’t matter in DPS or use other than a 2 min potential heal/stealth inhibitor/combat escalator. I was just confused I guess as to whether or not we were getting more “necromantic” play in the class fantasy (in the other specs). Maybe a longer duration would suffice. But they did lower the CD from WOTLK, when we used to summon it in the other specs. shrugs.
yeah, and the Brez was a 2min timmy if remember correctly, lol.
Unholy is your necromantic play. Blood is your vampiric play. Frost is your frozen juggernaut play. If you want necromancy then you’re just going to have to play the spec that’s built for it.

its another 2 minute cd that does like 7% of your damage. Stop asking for prunage. We get another cd to interact with it. So degenerative stop asking for dumbing down.

In cataclysm they streamed line the specc by removing useless/unused abilities. People complained about the “pruning”
Now they are doing a unpruning and are “unpruning” giving back those useless/unused abilities and people still complains.
after that people wonder why Blizzard is confuse and don’t do anything…
The Ghoul for Blood and frost has ALWAYS been a temporary pet with no control. Only Unholy could have control on his ghoul.
If you do not like it, here a easy trick: Do not put the ability on your action bar and don’t use it. simple right? and those with the skill to use it properly will be happy to keybind it and use it to it’s full extent and find cool way to use it even without the control bar that Unholy have.
Can we stop QQing about pointless thing, and learn that the unpruning might give you abilities that you will find useless, and will almost never used except in extremely niche situation?
its attacks what you are attacking. you move back with sac pact and blow it up and aoe stuff. thats sounds like a nice trade. it would be nice for a pet bar so we could control it but its still not a perm pet. like have it sit there and you run off with the mobs come up to it and BOOM.
