Remove bfa pathfinder

is it me or is blizzard trying to torture everyone who plays this game? Rep grinding and artificial time gates are getting out of hand. When is the game going to be fun again. They need to stop with these insane amounts of grinding enough is enough!

This is a devil’s advocate statement. I think they basically want new players grounded 1-50 to avoid having new players getting flight at 30 and then suddenly not being able to fly for the first half of Shadowlands. They don’t want to risk new players enjoying flight from 30-50 and then getting upset when they’re chained to the ground again.

Non-devil’s advocate statement: Flight is part of what kept me playing WoW and I’d like new players to be able to experience it at lvl 30 like everyone else. I’d like to see no delay in enabling flight in Shadowlands (regardless of if it was rewarded upon completion of Pathfinder part 1 or purchasable with a small gold cost) and the BfA pathfinder requirement removed for BfA flying.

I’m pretty casual and still did it. If I can do it then anyone can.

But I agree the requirements should be reduced. PF 1 with honoured rep is more than enough imo.

We had to do it with half the rep gains you have currently!

it’s just not fun go back to flight training. no one complained about that

Activision did, because it was a wasted opportunity to get more playtime from players.

It’s just kind how things are now. :man_shrugging: :pensive:

They gave those who didn’t have it 2 out of 3 of the current pathfinders.

well their excuse was that people were skipping stuff by flying (cough bs cough). so i don’t think it should require anything more than the exploration achievements and completing the main quest lines of each zone. and there should only be 1 part to it, not 2.

When flight was first introduced to the game, Bliz seemed to compensate by designing questing that had you go back and forth over long distances. I mean, you’d travel to a site to do a single quest, fly ALL THE WAY BACK to turn in the quest, then receive another quest at that site so you’d have to fly back. Three or four times.

Thankfully, that’s not so common anymore with newer content. But I can see why the issue of flying is so big for the developers, and why Pathfinding exists for the newest content. It’s a design issue. They could probably solve it without all this time gating if they could just think outside their standard box, but…

No, just do it.

First time I ever canceled my sub was when they added rep grinds to flying in WoD

REMOVE BFA PATHFINDER

butbutbut …that’ll demean all their hard work…because…you know…you get PF by just 'playing the game" lmao

Well, prepare to enjoy over a year of not being able to fly in Shadowlands.

I kinda get why they don’t have it and I kinda don’t. During the initial 110-120 of BFA it was nice to ride around and enjoy the scenery + quests as they came. However, world quests were a grind and a half. Without flying, it’s just sheer pain.

It shouldn’t be available off the bat, but definitely shouldn’t be tied to rep again.

They should do it like at least one other game does.
when you finish a zones content flight opens up in that zone for you on that character.
but..once you have ALL the zones opened you get the achieve for your entire account.

Speaking as someone that completed the rep grinds for every pathfinder achievement in each expansion, it needs to go!

Me too. I was continuously subbed from 2005 until the wod flying fiasco. I didn’t return until after ion backed down but ever since then I having a nagging suspicion that he holds a deep resentment and is passive / aggressively’ griefing the game.

Yep.

It was death by dailies. See legion at least had story, and side stories per zone to make the rep interesting to get.

Then it was death by WQ rotation. Gnome ville didn’t even have proper wq’s lol.

But even then on your legion route you’d see that one missed exclamation mark and go cool…new side quest or 2. Spiced things up.

WoD’s too for one part was death by dailies. WoD at least was nice enough to give medallions for rep to farm and people could sell them.

Even at higher price at the time no regrets for the gold I spent in these.

Thank you seller(s) X…you have saved me a few less nights in tanaan. I’d have liked a cheaper price but thanks all the same.

I also unsubbed in WoD when Ion announced no flight forever over Memorial Day weekend in an interview on the gaming website Polygon. I came back just in time to finish Pathfinder the evening before flight was enabled in WoD.
