How does everyone feel about disabling Azerite Traits in instanced PvP? We’ve seen through the tournaments and rated PvP that stacking gimmicky traits to make odd situations really OP is not a good thing to class balance. Than Blizz could balance class abilities instead nerfing buffing these traits.
Yay or nay?
I would really like for them to disabled in PvP because you could then just use your highest 3 ilvl pieces for those slots, and PvPers would no longer have to farm PvE content for BiS traits.
Unfortunately the team balanced each spec with those talents in mind and I think spec imbalance would be even worse if they removed them.

just disable azerite trait stacking and balance classes accordingly that currently rely on gimmicky 1 shots ( locks / ele / etc )
or we could always just revert to MOP

Would be good. But then that would mean blizz is admitting it was a stupid system and blizz never admits they're wrong. What we have to do is show that bad for pvp traits are also somehow op in m+ then we'll see adjustments within a week

Ah, yes. 5 stack Taste of Blood and Gag Order. I agree.
Azerite traits are trash and it goes much further than just the first ring.
Triple stack azerite fortification or pack spirit etc.
Could disable trait stacking on all levels but then, without vendors, you're even more screwed because you need three completely different pieces of gear.
Seems like some sort of trait DR would be good middle ground but then blizzard would have to do some coding work and god forbid.
Also would be nice to finally have some more advanced tool-tips so that things with reduced efficacy or DR but haha we're not getting that either.

- Disable azerite traits in PvP
- Add Shoulder / Helm / BP drops randomly in PvP that have a few perks to chose from
- Perks will be defensive, offensive, or utility based so you can customize based on your comp
- Add vendors
- Tune azerite traits for PvE, and Perks for PvP
- vendors

All these seem very interesting and hard to balance.. i have a super easy way to fix this.
JUST DISABLE TRAITS IN PVP.
Weren’t relics disabled in PvP in legion? Same !@#$....

I have nothing against Method Orange, but I am pretty confident that if azerite traits weren't allowed in PvP they would have never won Blizzcon. Can you really call it "skill" that they figured out more ways to exploit these? Azerite traits are bad from the top to the bottom of the ladder.
The issues with them are just exacerbated on the live realms as well since we don't even have the option of choosing what we want. It's a world of difference getting dunked on vs a team with 350 ilvl, improper secondary stats, and non-optimal azerite traits vs a team that's 370 ilvl, with good secondary stats, and best in slot azerite traits.

I don't know about that one, chief. They were #1 seed for a reason.
I like azerite traits for the builds and progression, but I also hate azerite traits for the builds and progression. It really is a double edged sword. Would love to be able to not have to grind traits on my alts, but it’s really kinda fun on my main.

Everyone knew they could pop innervate in the starting room, time it so there is 1 second left on it before gates opened, and get full stacked lively spirit at start of the game practically instagibbing someone and getting every single defensive cd in the first 10 seconds? Interesting. Wonder why we saw nobody else ever do it?
Also everyone knew Assassination Rogues could take 90% of someone's HP with poison knife? Wonder why Cdew said nobody else knew about it and they were saving it a a last resort?
Anyway the main point isn't about them deserving to win. it's that Azerite traits are imbalanced garbage. let's not get too off track here.

I just thought the system was going to be different. They could have borrowed the relic idea from the azerite weapon and just made the necklace this giant azerite tree. Keep helmet, shoulders, and chest as regular pieces and just have these relic things that go into the neck. You would have 3, 4, 5 etc tiers of relics and you can use 3 of each tier (so like 3 outer traits, 3 middle, 3 inner, etc). This way you're not tied to 3 different pieces of gear, you just get the relic traits and plug them into the necklace.
Would be a lot easier to manage trait stacking, trait DR's, etc with all traits being tied to one central piece.

The system would be alright if it weren't dependent on RNG as to how we acquired the traits, but because it is and the traits effect rated pvp so much, the system should be scraped. but then there's this :

I find it hard to believe if an unknown team shot up to the top of the ladder on live from exploiting an azerite trait that you'd respond in the same way. Obviously not a 100% fair comparison because Method Orange can still compete without this type of stuff, but the point stands.
Nobody wants to reward that kind of extra "work" where you just find ways to abuse OP azerite traits. We want people to be rewarded for working hard at perfecting their strategy and overall gameplay, not finding secret azerite exploits. It's just another piece of evidence to add to the case against azerite traits in PvP.
I feel like unless they rebalanced PVP accordingly, everything would be rather broken. It's easier to nerf the odd traits that are problematic than it is to rebalance every single class/spec.
