This is a sentiment shared across the player base and reflected in leaderboards.
One of the hero talent trees (Flameshaper) sees virtually 0 play due to inherent flaws in its design. Scalecommander on the other hand, has potential for greatness but needs quality of life changes that addresses the clunkiness of bombardments (make it an aura not a debuff).
Devastation could also benefit from “Defy Fate” or the Breath of Eons chrono ward shield from Deep Breath.
There’s multiple ways we can skin this cat, but something is needed.

Anyway, Aug os gun but really only good if youre mad n maxing to the highest and playing to its strengths. Its at the current moment not better to take over a Dev.

Unless you’re at grandmaster being Aug doesn’t matter for most gold to plat players.

I doubt they’ll just remove a spec from the game. Now, I could see them reworking augmentation to be a more traditional spec that uses the theme of buffing themselves to do damage. There’s precedent for blizzard moving a ranged spec into melee (survival hunter) and that might work well for augmentation. Instead of buffing the party, they use their magic to enhance themselves to do empowered abilities or something.
I guess it just all hinges on whether blizzard doubles down on the support role or not. If other classes start getting support specs, I’d say augmentation is here to stay. If not, I expect a rework in the future. But that’s just me.
Great point, but if we look at the OP, they’ve been one foot out the door since Augmentation’s inception.
I don’t see them committing to its current design. I’d prefer that it gets removed from the game, but I can understand that others would settle with a complete redesign.
Experimental class design shouldn’t be a thing. It’s at the expense of the players.

Make Aug a tank spec, or at least melee dps like enhancement.
That would be cool if they could augment themselves into those big draknoid guys and tank.
Tanking with disintegrate and turning azure strike into a melee ability sounds fun.

If it was more than one spec and class, I’d agree. But since there is quite literally only one, its causing problems because it doesn’t mesh.
So its always in a state flux getting buffed and nerfed trying to make it fit.
And they said previously that they aren’t making new supports which doesn’t help augs situation either.
Could make living flame a cone aoe breath attack, remove the cast time, and make it a self heal based on targets hit.
Having a big draconid transformation would be cool.
