Remove Ashran from Epic BGs

Title kinda says it all… if you were to do a poll of players who actually enjoy this “epic bg” there would be a resounding “NO” response…
Please.

I think it’s fun, although I think the previous version with 300 reinforcements was better overall :man_shrugging:

Wintergrasp on the other hand… that’s a easy /afk out usually (regardless of getting offense or defense).

WG not fun at all imo, almost no PvP happens there and it’s a long slog waiting for the timer to run out (if playing defense). If you’re playing offense, at least you know whether or not it’s a loss within the first 2-3 minutes.

Hate to point out but you are alliance. I play both factions and I roll my eyes when I hear “we must get flowers because that is what horde does” Go get your tubers, as a healer I’ve seen as few as five with the flower buff on a team that has gone to get them so overall with people forgetting or just not understanding they need to be used…they just aren’t as great as they sound. The tubers are amazing to keep you up after being invited in to the enemy lines by one of their dk’s, I think its 40% damage reduction for 10 seconds and a small heal? It also puts you in a better position for ogre spawn then horde, but then its alliance and I’m not your mom!

5 people is still 20% of a team with 15% more stats. 5 people has never been my experience, and Horde tend to downplay how effective the flowers are by using the “no one loots them!” defense.

The 40% damage reduction for 10 seconds every 3 minutes that locks out every other toy/scroll/wand/item is not equal to a permanent 15% stats.

I’d disagree, 10 seconds is enough time to get back to my healer if they are awake, several people slamming someone for those 10 seconds is going to chew up that 15% stam buff pretty fast…you aren’t going to make it back to your own healer. Quit being a typical alliance of “oh horde bias” and work on ways to win, when the going gets tough…alliance whine lol

The flowers are a pretty big deal this expansion. They weren’t so much in wod since it wasn’t a team deathmatch to win like now.

It is not about being Alliance, I have toons on both factions. Equality means better games for everyone.

Maybe this is where you are going wrong…? It is not a 15% stamina buff, it’s a 15% all stats buff. That means it increase damage, healing and health. The more gear someone has, the more powerful the buff is.

You’d have to agree death grip is by far the biggest deciding factor on deaths? We spend a lot of time doing nothing in ashran, standing in a crowd trying not to die and really…not many die in a good match. As alliance a lot of my wins sadly are on my little frost dk just standing there bored out of my mind spamming death grip and chains of ice while my team blows them up. Ironically you have about 10 seconds tops to get back to horde side before you’re dead…that 15% is great but when 90% of the time it doesn’t matter its impact isn’t as great as it seems.

They are a big deal but really how much of it is hype and “horde bias” comments?

Lemme ask you this: are you a big advocate for “gear matters” in this expansion?

When you’re trying to get your butt back to your own lines…about all that matters is if you can live those few seconds, its a stam buff and not very effective with 10 people doing 20k+ dps to you. Your damage isn’t going to mean a thing in their crowd, your healing is going to be interupted and pointless, most horde I deathgrip and drag to alliance rez before they get near their teammates again.

It’s an every stat buff. Includes mastery/versa/etc

But you’d still have to deal more damage into that target, their healers will be doing more healing to them and in general there is more time for them to react.

…and when the Horde deathgrip Alliance players, that 20k dps is going to be 23k dps each because of the 15% increased stats their team has… a baby shield wall is not going to save you because the last time I checked a lone DK can death grip that target 7 times (14 if they have the class book) before that root tuber is off cooldown and that player can no longer use any other toy, scroll, or Ashran related item…

Their healers arent going to get in range to heal them, they are death gripped in to the alliance ranks and if the healers were that close they’d have been the ones pulled. Just go try the tubers, you’d be suprised and although you’ll never admit you’re wrong to others, I have a feeling you’ll start gathering them regularly.

I know what tubers do. I was one of the first people to write a guide on Ashran when it was in beta 6 years ago. The difference between you and I is that I am not blinded by “ZUG ZUG MUH WINS” and want more fun epic battlegrounds for everyone.

Good dodge on the death grip CD being 7x shorter than the tuber though.

ps. No, I won’t. I find the Scrolls of Protection much more valuable at a 60% DR for 15 seconds on half the cooldown of the tubers, but you keep believing there is no imbalance.

lol you aren’t that bright are you? I’ve pointed out quite often I play both sides but you want to whine so…go ahead and whine but its not a horde power thing, its a reality thing that you would rather whine about then deal with.

Whiney boys write guides all the time, doesn’t make them useful or good. You didn’t read what I’ve written or you’d have noticed I mention playing both sides (considering your comment is on me mentioning my alliance frost dk) you still go with the “oh you’re horde so I’m gonna cry like a stuck pig because I’m alliance and its all most do” That much is true, I do find it annoying even in winning bgs how much alliance seem to cry :stuck_out_tongue:

I can’t help you. There is also no whine, there is only feedback and truths.

You may play both factions but anyone that doesn’t see the value in a 15% stat buff - particularly at the end of an expansion where people are rocking 15k+ primary stats - is the one that “isn’t that bright”.

Who asked for a dimwits help? The whine coming off of you is thick little guy, maybe you whine so much you stopped noticing thats what it is but its there.

I never claim it has no value, I simply point out it isn’t something that is so extreme it makes or breaks a game. btw 15% is 15% regardless of how early or late it is in an expansion or what the base number is…damn kid I thought ones like you had caregivers to help you come up with this stuff.

In a 25-25 death match which is what Ashran is … the flowers make a big impact .

There are ways for alliance to negate the flower advantage… trying to fight horde in the dark woods is not the right strategy .

Now that I can agree with, yes they are an advantage, yes it can be negated, no rushing dark woods is not the answer…thanks

rushing Dark Woods works fine as a strat… if you actually win the teamfight there.

Unfortunately, I often see Alliance (slowly) trailing into the woods in a “long, drawn-out, single-file line” instead of as a cohesive clump of players. And when they get there only like 40% of them actually commit to pushing in, while the other 60% sort of hang back/afraid to PvP… it’s a very “staggered” way of attacking.

Most of my Alliance wins have come from rushing mage at the very start of the match, the 50 points buffer a kill gives you is considerable and somewhat makes up for Alliance being worse at head-to-head PvP (which is made a little worse/compounded by Horde having a stat buff).

Most strats can work, even backdoor boss rush is a viable strat - the “problem” is getting pugs to agree on 1 plan and executing it as a cohesive deathball instead of running around the map in this comical and ineffective “single-file” line.
