What are they you ask? Well they are the things that make my game life more annoying with quite literally no reason behind them. Azerite Reforging per Spec
Should have switched talents with spec at least the first time, keep the gold cost for reforging after you change your initial choices
Weapon Limitations
-why did my frost Death knight, enhancement shaman, and windwalker monk suddenly forget how to use 2 handed weapons? In what way does them being unable to use those benefit your time played metrics? And your choice was wrong anyway as when dual wielding was a choice it was more commonly done in unholy.
Main
I wouldn’t mind you wanting me to play only one character but you also insist on making me play only 1 spec
Specs were already relevant and greatly changed design, they just made it so I need to go farm different weapons for what once was a choice. And combat already used swords if I’m not mistaken.
Combat’s damage benefited from a slower weapon in the offhand, so dagger/sword was usually optimal over dual swords, except for a very small handful of swords with the same speed as daggers.
I’m tired of Frost DKs acting like only their specs changed.
? I literally mentioned several other specs in my post and I did not limit my post to only frost dk that is just the main one as that effects me. So maybe read the post next time or just agree with the concept as it appears you are doing.
No, actually I don’t agree with the premise of your topic. I like that the specs changed and my premise was it didn’t matter to me. That’s why I said “so what?”
Then why even care about this enough to post? I am simply dissatisfied with the weapon limitations of specs which means I just want more player agency in the game for choices so what?
Because this is a discussion forum and you’re going to hear people who disagree with your premise. Just because you’re dissatisfied doesn’t mean everyone agrees with you.
But your dissatisfaction has nothing to do with my post since even with it I am suggesting no changes to your current playstyle only to allow more choices for other people. So your disagreement is just to limit others.
Except I’m not dissatisfied with the current system. It’s a non-factor. Just because you have to find two swords doesn’t make the system broken, as someone whose class has duel-wielded from the beginning, it’s really not that big a deal.
If you don’t want to duel wield, learn a different spec. I know how to play two out of three.
TEP gave no daggers. Guess I was outlaw for a while. Oh nooo
I was talking about your dissatisfaction with my post.
Congrats you missed the point. I merely liked it back in the day when I could switch spec and be fine. I main unholy and I like to occassionally play different specs.
I am expressing that I preferred a previous system that had player agency and that this current system of one weapon type would not change besides from helping players chose. I don’t know what has you keep arguing with me as I said before my opinion of what I want changed does nothing to you and if you aren’t dissatisfied with this system then this still has no effect on you.
You have more than one weapon type. You just can’t use two-handed weapons. And instead of swapping specs or learning the new playstyle, you want them to revert a change that they already took eight or nine years to make and have been continuing to balance around.
It’s not an “artificial limitation” other than the one you put on yourself.
Has nothing to do with my post because my post doesn’t effect you.
Actually I can use just two handed weapons and thats kind of how the class functioned for 8ish years. And the problem isn’t learning a new playstyle its merely I’m freaking lazy and I prefer the big damage numbers of a two handed weapon. It does not change balance as I do the same damage it just isn’t split into 2 weapons. And ffs I mained frost for 4 years I know how to play the spec.
I hope this isn’t your main because if so why would someone who doesn’t even participate in current content care.
It actually changes it quite a bit. You’re assuming your numbers were just split in half, i.e. a two handed weapon would have the combined stats of your one handed.
Doesn’t work that way. Your primaries and secondaries were balanced around being single handed weapons. The theoretical two handed weapon didn’t exist. So just because you had two swords that give you 60STR doesn’t mean that you would be wielding a theoretical two hander that had 120STR.
Also, because you’re dual wielding one handeds, your auto attack DPS is higher. Instead of getting one strike every 2.7 seconds, the speed of a two handed weapon, you’re getting damage based on the following formula
Dual Wield: Effective DPS = 0.76 x ( [Main Hand Weapon’s DPS] + ( 0.5 x [Off-Hand Weapon’s DPS] ) )
2-hander: Effective DPS = 0.95 x [2-handed Weapon’s DPS]
So if we plug in 100DPS per weapon as a constant (for simple calculations), dual weilding gives you an effective DPS of 126 whole your two handed gives you an effective DPS of 95.
So it is balance that would have to be changed again. Which affects me.
And I don’t believe in changing the specs of a game again for someone who just admitted he was lazy and liked to see big numbers, especially when he’s about to see smaller numbers with the level squish in SL. You’re getting bigger numbers dual wielding.
