People would abuse open transmogging. Imagine have 20 people in a bg dressing up as the opposite class, mages wielding swords. Abusing rp add-ons to hide thier class. I would spend more time trying to figure who the $#&$ I was fighting more than planning my coarse of action. I mean sure there is armor that can disguise your class, but imagine every single person doing it which they would. This is only icing on the cake, there is so much more this would affect. Trust me, I love transmog, but this is clearly a horrible idea.
No. Homogenization is bad.
wouldnât this only benefit plate classes?
This is the most overused and ignorant response to nearly every request on these forums.
Donât like flying? Then just donât fly.
Donât like all inclusve transmog? Then dress your character how you want.
Donât like LFR? Just donât queue for it.
Itâs like nobody understands the integrity of a social game begins and ends at it having constant rulesets.
Include an option to buy BiS gear on the store. If you donât like it, go raid for it, it doesnât affect you.
Add zombie dragons as a playable race. If you donât like it, donât roll one!
Nope. It would benefit all classes.
Itâs not about âonlyâ playing cloth. It means that plate wearers can wear whatever and cloth wearers are stuck with what they got. Letting cloth wear leather, mail, plate is perfectly fine too. Everyone gets countless more options.
Iâm not allowed to equip mail or plate on this rogue. Warriors can wear everything thatâs not a set.
I wouldnât mind seeing restrictions eased on things like eyepatches, monocles, and goggles tbh, since having those should be a thing all armor types can do imo.
But anything else would just break immersion way to much.
Honestly, this is a request I wouldnât mind. There are some plate and chain transmogs I wouldnât mind using on my DH.
You already see it in game now. Ever since BC the sets have not always looked like the armor of the class and itâs only changed more over time. My pally is wearing Zandalari armor that looks like cloth. Sheâs wearing a mini skirt and a small shirt.
Itâs only a matter of time until this does become a reality. With Dark Iron heritage armor among others, cloth wearers already can make themselves appear in full plate and so forth. Many NPCâs do not follow the norm either. Personally, I always thought this would also help encourage folks to make more toons as well.
The reason is that if this ever goes live, one should still need the right class to get the item unlocked in transmog. Thus, youâd need to have a plate wearing toon get the plate gear drop from a dungeon to mog it on your clothy and so forth. Would add a lot of play time and log in metrics. And, be great for those of us that want to build even more cool sets.
Well then roll a warrior. Problem solved. If you donât want to play one then thatâs on you. Easy peasy.
This just in: Increased cosmetic customisation options is Homogenization". Please donât use a buzzword that you donât know the meaning of.
Hover over them. Bliz already said this.
If youâre using an RP add on you can already change your class.
It takeâs literally a whole second to recognise class colour nameplate.
Doubt it, but doesnât really matter. I am in glee at the idea of more diverse options for all.
Disagreed.
I have to see humans in the game. I hate humans. But I donât PM every human and say âhey I hate you!â I just move on because I donât control what other people do with their characters and neither do you.
Agreed.
Agreed.
Agreed.
Let people play how they want. Donât regulate others. If itâs not actually affecting their progress, or your progress it literally does not matter.
Thatâs different lmfao. That actually has an effect on your progress because they have an advantage.
Agreed. Plenty of races I donât like. Mostly humans.
Yeah cause a warrior wearing leather is game breaking. Itâs not like NPCs donât break all these imaginary rules all the time. I already justified countless ways itâd make sense for say a priest to wear mail, or warrior leather, etc. Some people might do ridiculous things but they honestly already have that ability. âbut meh immersionâ is a terrible excuse. People use the same thing to argue against pandaren being made playable.
Exactly!â
THIS âMy immersionâ or âItâd look out of placeâ really does not apply.
I have a warrior, but my clothie wouldnât be able to benefit. I have all classes some would benefit others would not.
Different why? Because youâre saying it is? Only progression and stat numbers matter? What arbitrary rule are you using aside from your own opinion?
Is this a real questions? Someoneâs aesthetic is irrelevent to you. Donât like it? Donât look. Same applies IRL. But someone having an actual advantage DOES effect you. Like someone buying (bribing) their way into a prestigious position. Which is frowned upon IRL. So Iâll say society?
It is entirely a real question.
Weâre not playing chess. Weâre playing a massive multiplayer roleplaying game. Thereâs a narrative here, there are themes and restrictions to allow for that narrative to remain intact.
Yes, yes it is. Making every race be able to play every class. Making every class look like every other class. Making everything the same is homogenization.
We donât agree, is that a reason to be sarcastic and combative?
Not being able to use all gear on a cloth wearer would werk itself out when you can have more options with another class.
Yeah like using illusion magic to turn into a murloc is totally okay. Or transmogging your weapons into fish is okay. But a priest wearing mail is totally destroying the integrity of the game⌠ANDUIN IS LITERALLY A PRIEST IN PLATE WIELDING A TWO HANDED SWORD. So donât even. The lore narrative does not support your position. Itâs purely a gameplay mechanic.
Come 8.2 Iâll be wearing nothing but bikini bottoms. Whatâs worse a DK/War/Pally wearing a robe or nothing at all?
