I mean its impossible for me to get 5 star as a disc priest. I 100% completed every floor, decently fast as I could for a healer, and zero deaths.

Still 3 stars.

The impressive thing here is I’m looking at OP’s post, and it says 0 posts.

The idea is to do the highest layer you can do comfortably and slowly accumulate tower power for your box.

I’m confused, what are people talking about?

Is it the little crystal things that pop up and tell you you have a flawless run at the end, or something else entirely?

I don’t remember seeing anything gated by anything.

The 4 gem rating as a requirement for going higher absolutely ignores the simple fact that some specs, like tanks, can steamroll Torghast and for others it’s a slow grind, but doable. And Torghast is the only way to get a currency we need to upgrade our legendaries.

Yes, that’s bs.

I can 4 star solo but with a geared group its super easy. I don’t think its an issue.

Once you get more tower knowledge you’ll be able to 4-5 star easily.

Read the patch notes:
https://news.blizzard.com/en-us/world-of-warcraft/23685044/updated-june-28-chains-of-domination-content-update-notes#item17

5 New Layers

  • Four new and more challenging Layers have been introduced, Layers 9–12.
  • Layers are now unlocked by reaching a specific rating in the previous Layer’s run.

Next week only those characters that got a 4 star rating in layer 9 can do layer 10.

Even if the system allows a character to re-run layer 9 over and over again there is cap on Torghast Knowledge and its unknown (and probably doubtful) that the new leggo currency will continue to be rewarded. Even if it were continued to be rewarded that means in order for a character to achieve the same progress with another spec instead of running torghast once or twice for a total of (for example) 2 hours (60-90 minutes on my very squishy mage is normal), they may have to spend 8 hours doing multiple runs to achieve the same progress.

It’s no longer a “fun additional system”. It’s a major grind to progression.

I don’t see anything wrong. Probably not doing something right.

Err…just do everything , use your Power ranger ability just before stuff dies…and do not die

Are you doing it on a mage or similarly squishy class or going bear form on your druid?

As a tank you can round up everything on a level and AOE everything. A squishy spec will get flattened ASAP. And speed counts massively.

Yeah, I don’t know when they added this “par” timer score thing, but when I tested it months ago it wasn’t there and I literally took over 30 minutes on a run once and still got a 5.

That and the “Empowered” buff wasn’t an ability you casted, it just happened.

I can still get a 4 though its just, with those 2 additions the ebb and flow just went out the window. Feels so clunky now.

Yea the idea is stupid. I walked thru layer 9 skipping everything and did it just fine and got 2 stars.

Had to go back to get 4 star and spend more time in there than I needed to usdt get the run done.

It’s a time sink mechanic just to make runs take longer. So stupid.

I mean - balance isn’t exactly squishy but it’s no walk in the park either.

Every tried GROUPING.
