Removal useless spells from trainers

So I noticed in the PTR that the resurection spells which are all but useless in HC are still on the trainers and cost money to train.

Seems like someone who is new or not paying attention and just spam buying there skills might waste gold on training a spell that does nothing but cause frustration at the loss of gold which is all the more precious in HC.

Seems like a simple fix to either remove these spells from the trainers or at least remove the cost to train them so no one wastes money on them.

Although if you want to go even further there are also items associated with some res spells(rebirth seeds, ankh, etc) that are made worthless as well but they are less likely to be bought unintentionally but would also be a nice touch to remove them as well.

You’re expecting too much polish.

Despite the fact that Blizzard has raked in a solid 14B+ from Wow this kind of thing is out side of their budget. If they find a corner to cut they WILL CUT IT. While this is minor in the grand scheme of things it’s still a pretty silly thing to overlook.
It might be fixed by the time servers go live. It might not.
Most of us are well aware of their track record on these kinds of things though so I think we know how this will turn out…

I don’t really understand why these other two knuckleheads are being so doomer about blizzard right now lol. I think it’s entirely possible they might just flat out remove those things, but also I kind of think it still gives some of that flavor to the world and I might buy them as the very last things I train just for the silly aspect of it. Ultimately it’s a pretty minor thing if it stays, imo, but they’ve taken a pretty solid pass at fixing things for this unique mode anyway.

Yes I agree its a relatively minor issue, but its one that should also be really easy to fix.
Personally I think removing the training cost is the better solution, but considering how tight gold can be on HC wasting gold on a spell that has basically no use can be frustrating

if you’ve got that much coin to spam abilities without first looking it’s basically not Blizzard’s fault lol. Concept of removing makes sense, but if you go to the NPC vendor and spam click something should we also have a popup notification indicating we are buying excessively?

Resurrection spells work on hunter’s pets your argument is invalid.

Soulstone/Reincarnation

there are useless spells in HC

which one is easier?

  1. leave the game as it is; or
  2. remove specific spells because it “annoys” certain players but then you have to iterate on every tiny bit of the game to see if specific things are not being used and/or are not being affected because you removed/invalidated specific spells?

second option sounds “better” but I wouldn’t expect them to do it because it adds/changes literally nothing to the game. plus, it’s nice to have for flavor. I’d cast myself soulstone even if it wouldn’t work because its nice.

I mean doing nothing will always be easier, but changing the cost of spells on the trainer or just removing them from the trainer is like as simple a hotfix as there is.

and yes it does do something it prevents player frustration for minimal cost, plus it shows that they are really looking at the server and are not doing the bare minimum which also has benefits.

Soulstone can be used on hunter pets. You’re right about Reincarnation though, I sort’ve wish they’d change the spell to do something different.

you’re right, changing the value to 1c would suffice - not sure how the skill system pricing really works and if they can set specific values for spells but I know that troll priests have unique spells and they cost way less than normal skills.

Remember,

After you die, you can move your character to a regular server. I know it would be easy to just train the missing spells on the new server, but it’s easier for Blizz to just leave them there and not worry about extra coding.

This is a nitpick but the Rebirth seeds are used for some enchanting oils.
