Remix: uh why is it like this?

So I log into my remix character and obviously the unique remix items are gone that’s more then fair. But why was the 34 slot bags replaced with 30 slot bags? Also the bank space I bought with gold is locked again. And the bags I bought to fill that bank space is alsogone.

Why was my abilities scattered everywhere? Couldn’t you have just removed my remix abilities without randomizing my ability bars so I now have to fix them on every remix character? Despite this my talent build remained untouched.

Why is the ilvl only 467? That seems pretty low. Though not too big of a deal since we’ll seen be getting quest gear from TWW it’s still an odd choice.

Anyone else have any issues with their post remix character?

They were 36’s actually. They were the same as the Collector’s Carryall.

If they don’t want to give out full 36’s that’s fine with me. They should have just done 30’s to begin with.

This model of trolling players because they hate them, giving things just to take them away, is really dumb and people should not be like, “OMG my 36’s I’m so sad!” because that’s what they’re going for.

People should be pointing out that they did it for yuks, and that’s not okay. We didn’t need 36’s in Remix. There was absolutely nothing that necessitated it. We could have had 30’s from the beginning and nobody would have cared.

I took an ILVL 460 to Beta just to see the results, was very capable with leveling and the gear wasn’t replaced till level 78-ish. I was intrigued. My Main 499 with 502 bits and pieces, didn’t replace anything till just before hitting 80. Downloading today’s update and gonna repeat with new toons. will let ya know.

Look closer, mine were reset to the “starter build”, I know because the first character I logged into had been using SMF in Remix and was talented out of it with the conversion.

How didn’t you replace it til 78… the first quests you get give you higher lvl gear

Because free 34 bags would be overpowered and bring down the world . . . of warcraft.

Nothing that didn’t take about 15 minutes to correct. Including increasing my character’s item level to 480.

How did they botch this so hard?!?!

I feel like they actually deleted our remix character and replaced it with a level boost and mailed us stuff we could keep.

Maybe that’s why the character restore is currently disabled.

Horrible way to code this if true. Just have all the items have an expiration date and let us keep our bags, and talents, and ability loudouts.

scaling, the way it’s set up. the mobs scale to you. I trying a remix toon now to confirm the previous claim. (Will update this post) in about 2 hours of play.

As a tailor, I’m secretly glad they stole the bags.

I need to make money next expansion, y’all.

You can still replace the gear, you just made it sound like you weren’t getting any gear. Mobs scale slower than your ilvl increases

Nope.

Put Skyridig on bars, spells, opened mail, put that all in the bank and off to do Weekly and Event, 476 ilvl now.

The first quests give 400+ 408 to be precise on Beta. This was yesterday, so, unless it has changed, the first quest rewards you get will not replace many players gear.

I can see that 36-slot bags were not a dime-a-dozen in retail but it does feel a bit trollish. Why not just give us 30-slot bags in Remix and let us keep them. You probably paid very little gold for bank space slots in Retail (I can’t recall the costs but they were low because gold was NOT plentiful). I did not get a 2,000 gold in the mail or in my currency tab “gift” as someone else described, but my Recruit’s Shirt and a few other misc items were mailed to me as “recovered while serving as a Timerunner.”
Edit: I checked my bags and there was a Timerunner’s Parting gift, that when I opened did have 2,000 gold in it

Some have reported that both action bars and talent trees were reset. I guess inadequate design & testing of the conversion process is to blame here. My Remix Monk was lucky and came through with both action bars & talent trees intact.
Edit: Actually, on closer inspection my 3rd action bar is empty and my vertical bar with my mounts is also empty! Oh well…

I never deleted my Jewelry in Remix, but some did that to boost their ilvl. My ilvl in Remix was 476, so I too was disappointed that it would be 467 (essentially the same as a boost to L70 or using the Gear Update option on a neglected Retail alt). However, this was announced in advance and as soon as it was known, I funneled a set of 480 gear from the Retail pre-patch event into the Warbank for my Timerunner to grab today.

If you pay attention to the News blurbs, you’d be prepared and could make plans. If you ignore the News, it’s hard to compensate for what you don’t know about.

Announced 8d ago. Doesn’t cover all your questions, but it does cover some, and this was information available to everyone.

^ This. The “why?” is “because remix characters were converted to standard boosted characters”.

They’re just plugging the remix characters into a standard and already-existing game function. Can’t really blame them, and is not at all surprising.

Remember, remix characters were always treated oddly. They couldn’t even leave Pandaria.

I want to know why they redid my talents on a couple of my toons… why???
