when you leave remix you won’t be in 526 gear, it will probably be less, as they will have end of expansion pre-patch gear
Upgrading gear = Faster raid invites
Faster raid invites = Faster bronze acquisition.
It kind of feeds into itself, while I could have spent all that bronze on cosmetics I probably would not have been able to get into heroic and Mythic runs which Grant higher amounts of bronze so it would have technically taken longer to earn the same amount while upgrading the gear is more like an investment to increase future gains.
Clearing all the Heroic raids gives the “Claw of Eternus” title, and you get more Bones of Mannoroth from Heroic/Mythic Garrosh than Normal, if you want to buy the Tusks and/or the heirlooms.
I think that’s it, though.
The idea of spending a ludicrous amount of bronze to upgrade your gear just so you can farm even more bronze faster to then get the things you actually want, is asinine to me. I’m almost done getting all the mogs/mounts that are accessible to me and I haven’t upgraded anything past 346. I don’t know for certain, but I think amount of bronze you’d need to spend to fully upgrade your gear surpasses the amount needed to actually get all the stuff. If that’s the case, then… what’s the point of upgrading instead of just getting the stuff you want?
Do you need to do heroic raids? Do you need to do mythic raids? If your answer is yes then you might want to upgrade to some degree, if not fully. But if you don’t need to do those difficulties and can clear SoO on normal, you can get every item available without upgrading. That said, actually getting into and clearing SoO normal will be easier with upgraded gear.
For me personally, I can’t clear normal ToT or SoO. I’m just not able to perform as well as I did 15-20 years ago, and I am no longer willing to invest the time necessary for a full clear that may not happen. I made attempts and the groups fell apart before getting a full clear. My time is not so abundant and without value that I can waste hours trying to clear only to fail. So I’ve resigned myself to using a cheap statless neck from Grifta so I have something in the slot, and not getting the few Garrosh heirlooms I am missing.
