MoP Remix was mindless fun. I made a bunch of alts I didn’t need to get cosmetic crap that I didn’t need. But I didn’t mind because it was good fun blasting through content for no particularly good reason. I had a really good time just having fun with it.
Legion Remix is a grind to get cosmetic crap I don’t need. Alts I won’t bother with. Too much humbug even though it should be much easier to level. Maybe okay for people want to try a new class but not sure you’ll learn much from the experience because it won’t play the same in the regular world.
On a scale of 1 to 10, I thought MoP Remix was a solid 10. If you’re playing a game it is hard to beat mindless fun. I was looking forward to Legion even though I understood there would be differences, but Blizzard really tuned down the fun. Legion seems like more of an experiment for new concepts like heroic world mode and the bizarre artifact tree. For me, I give Legion a 5. It’s something to do, but it’s not something fun to do.
I didn’t play legion, so I have no nostalgia. Playing inside other people’s nostalgia is not as fun as the people reliving it feel. I agree Pandemonium was much more of a smashup… Despite being OP, Broken Isles is densely crowded with mobs, very tedious in the RP chunks, and not enjoyable in replay.
I had thought when announced I’d want to do all the order halls that I haven’t done, but im now realizing it entails the Illidan questlines, the uniting the isles, getting the world pillars, etc… I feel like three quarters through the first order hall I’ve done it more than enough.
Another big difference for me is that in MOP remix, I could get groups for everything because nobody cared and we were going to SLAUGHTER all content. This time, bads rushed like crazy people to 80 so that i get declined five times for a world boss group.
The tyranny of bad players in simple games.
It’s not BAD, but it’s not much for me. I’ll play enough to get the few cosmetics I actually like, and will be stocking up on bronze for the housing decor.
I get this bro, but it’s literally Day 4. There’s literally 100 days remaining. and none of us are near full power.
MoP Remix had a ton of issues on launch aswell and took time to be fixed.
I think the main flaw is that the build up of power early on is way slower than MoP. Until high level scaling issues MoP remix felt like a ARPG. Then at level cap the ARPG came back quickly.
It takes longer to get rolling on the first character in Legion which isn’t great and its made worse by the awful questing in this type of content. LONG bits of RP, followed by more RP and more RP and then dungeons loaded with RP… you are constantly being walled by RP you can’t skip.
Once you get past the story stuff the heroic open world is actually fun IMO. Run around grinding out quests, building lots of power quickly and earning Tmog.
If you didn’t play any of Legion you’re missing out on huge chunks. This remix version is just a slice of what is on offer in retail. It’s missing a heap of quests in all the zones.
I may have made a poor choice by choosing to play a Holy Priest. I don’t feel nearly as powerful as I did in MoP Remix, where I also played Holy Priest. Perhaps it’s because it’s still very new. I do seem to remember it taking a little time in MoP Remix before I was actually slaughtering things with Holy Nova so maybe it will just take time in Legion Remix to do the same.
Already though it feels like healing is going to be absolutely useless in this game mode. With the amount of Stamina people are getting my healing is just not moving their health bars at all and I’m out of mana just topping up a single player.
I’ve been through Legion to unlock Nightbourne and High Mountain Taurans prior to Dragonflight xpac. As I’m questing through the Legion remix, it feels like yesterday I did these quests, especially in Suramar where it took a long time to unlock the Nightbourne allied race.
Due to this, I’m finding Legion remix a slog since we, the players, have to redo all of Legion content basically to obtain cosmetic rewards. I wouldn’t have minded if Legion remix was faster pace like MoP was.
I’ve decided to just play one character instead of leveling alts. I have enough alts still ftom MoP remix anyhow.
Well Heroic world tier was fun for a few hours but I’m pretty bored with leveling. Probably wont make it through to level 80 TBH. Not to mention I rolled Druid and I’m loving the Werebear skin too much so when they remove it that will likely kill what’s left of my interest in Legion Remix.
I still plan to play a bit here and there for now.
Gonna be honest, I’ve realized that the old world quests really were that bad. Thought Pandaria dailies were actually less awful for a while, but this confirms it for me.
Having gone from Pandaria remix’s dailies to Legion remix’s world quests in about a year or so now - dailies were grouped up together and fairly quick/easy to complete. You just move from one quest hub to the next while completing handful of quests.
The world quests give comparable rewards, albeit with more rep, but are so much more tedious. They’re spread out all over the place and sometimes ask you to do about as much as 3 actual leveling quests (such as kill 12 mobs, get 8 objects, and interact with 10 NPCs) all for the same reward as the Wardens asking me to knock out 1 rare.
Also realizing just how much this expansion loved wasting time, with Remix thankfully skipping all of the Mission Board stuff. Not sure why an expansion built around an AP grind and that had a mountain of max level content felt the need to drag things out. Not even mentioning quests that feel like they go on way too long, or bonus objectives where an enemy will give you like 2%.
Legion’s got more to do, but Pandaria was more fun. Not because the Remix parts are bad, but because Legion’s core gameplay is just worse than Pandaria’s.
I think people forget what early MoP remix was like, or maybe they were froggers and skipped weeks ahead and didn’t know how slow it was at the start for most people.
I play so much of legion when it was current this thing they released for endgame and how timegated is really will not do justice to what legion was in a way.
